Reading the roger's proposal thread to lizcam, I coud'nt help but resurrect this old thread with a bit of an update...
About two weeks ago, she finally let her doubts go and stopped holding back...
and so far, she has blown my mind, she's everything I could have ever hoped for...
so, a big thanks you to everybody that gave me the advice to go for it.... the best choice I could have made...

Man! Two good romance stories in two days!
I'm not that much of a mushy romantic or what-have-you but this is so sweet!

Just as a side note, I literally 'stole' my sambo from a good friend of mine. It made me lose a friend but I gained one of the most wonderful people I've ever met.
I think that what I meant to say with that is that no matter what one chooses there are always good and bad sides of it. You just have to make sure you wont regret your choice. After all, setting morale aside from time to time, the world will be forever yours.

Well, in Swedish 'sambo' is the common word for your live-in boyfriend/girlfriend and a few months ago I found out that it apparently is the proper English term nowadays as well(very new addition. Yep, yet another loan word.) So I've decided to use it that way instead of using sentence long explanations that still feel a bit vague.

I can't think of a word used for that over here. We usually call them just boy/girl friend, and if someone asks we say they live with us...
am I right in this? Because if I am I can educate the majority of my classmates who live with their other to get away from paying dorm fees!

lol i was watching extras today and there was a whole racial undercurrent and one of the women had a gollywog doll called sambo!! that would have meant nothing to me a few days ago
