I may finally have bit off more than i can chew. I bought the forge world Mortarion model and decided to have some fun with the cloak. Don't know if that was the right decision... I may just kill myself before i finish.

Ihe idea was to copy the classic work "triumph of death" by Bruegel the elder, on a cloak the size of a poker chip. Don't know why I thought that would be fun.

we shall see. what worries me most is all the different colors. as mortar ion himself is dark dull and dirty, i fear it will look like he´s wearing some sort of firework display or spilled his makeup bag on his cloak.

i´m sorry to say i wasn't happy with the colors, just to strong in comparison to the toned down mortarion. i will repaint the whole thing. rather don't want it to go to waste tho. so if anyone has a mortarion mini and want to swap their unpainted cloak for mine, that would be sweet=)

forgot to say to those who didn't know btw, i won best overall in the fang "nordic championship" with my Horus. oh so very happy about that!

Wow, congratulations!

I love the progress on Mortarion. The old cloak was really cool but I think the new version fits better. Great color scheme.

you need to get a life mate ;) not a fan of the model but the paint looks great, really dig the colorchoices. and the cape is sooooo much better now. :good:

i feel that you need a focal point though, you hardly see the guy has a head at all here.

true that skels. truer words have seldom been spoken...
i´m thinking about making the backpack a sort of focal point. maybe some osl? a bit tricky this, i tend to paint very dark when i use tmm, and very bright when i use nmm. the fella barerly has a face btw. the anatomy of the piece is to hell. i rather like it better when i´ve painted it myself tho. paint day next weekend? got some work to be done with until friday.

Ok never painting that...

Man he looks good. Although the base is a bit dark, some contrast would have been neat i think.
