On the subject of cheesyness, this really riled me up: http://us.games-workshop.com/e-zine/current/6/default.htm
Basicly it ends up saying all claims of something in the game being unfair are just people being a crybaby. Sounds like GW just trying to cover Gav\'s ass, there are many inbalances in the game!
Nah, not really, there are a few things that aren\'t exactly spot on, but generally 40k and warhammer are pretty balanced. I find most calls of beardyness are really just because people haven\'t learnt how to play with their own armies properly yet, or are using the wrong tactics for an opponent.
A unit that is effectively the same will have very different effects in different armies depending upon how it works with the rest of the army, close combat troops would be worth far more to a Tau player than a Tyrannid player for example. Thus its quite often the case that to get the different flavours into armies there is musch juggling of unit types/availability/costs.
3 wraithlords is often bandied about as being really beardy, but its actually pretty easy to deal with especially if you know its coming, take a bunch of snipers (ratlings are best) and watch those wraithlords turn into so much scrap.
The one thing that has constantly caused me issues is the death company, blood angel players always seem to have hordes of them, and they can do an obscene amount of damage, but if you can bring out the strength 8 weaponry or power weapons than they go bye bye as well.
