Now that you mention it, I can belive it. I write learning material for my wife\'s school and we actually had a group of teachers say,\"Can we take the \'strange\' out of the stories. It\'s a negative word.We don\'t think we should take teach the children that word.\"

Not forgetting that blackboards had to be referred to as chalkboards until they were replaced by whiteboards which then had to be referred to as wipeboards.
But I think the most ridiculous thing was when brainstorming had to be referred to as mindstorming so as not to infer that non-contributors didn\'t have a brain ???
