You should be ashamed of yourself.
Why? I work with a Young woman who could have been the model for that very mini.
Having said that I have quite a few Fianna still to paint.

Can\'t remember the painter (maybe Mike can help there). He\'s spanish but I want to reach this level. I probably won\'t but I\'d like to.

I think so but I\'m not sure. I have the pics saved on my computer and look at them now and then when I need motivation but I\'ve lost the name of the artist. I know he\'s on the Spanish team forum, tho\' but that doesn\'t help me as I don\'t speak spanish let alone read it.

I think if I had to pick a single mini that inspired me the most then it was an Eldar Grav vehicle that was painted for one of the early Golden Toadstool events, I have since lost all photos of it but the art work put on it was amazing.
It was done in a blue and then over the top of that in white was a femal angel absolutely gob smacking freehand.
The other that comes in close to that was a Warmaster scale Empire War Griffon I think was done by Dirk.

This one was the first. Got me hooked on CMoN. Also probably turned me into a fangirl of Natalya\'s.

Then this one got me to really try to paint better myself. Since I had (rather, my husband had) the actual figure, it brought the scale out better. In other words, made me really understand the amount of detail involved as I wasn\'t sure how big some of the minis here were.

Mine was also a Rackham studio paintjob. I\'m not entirely sure which one was the first, but I think it may be this one:

That was the first Rackham mini I painted, at least, and the first time I tried to do something else than copy paintjobs off the pages of White Dwarf.

I was a big fan of SaxonAngel\'s back in my early CMON days (I still am, of course :)) and some of her more striking works really made me think \"wow!\". But it was probably the early lighting effects minis by victoria (eg. Firey Angel) and EricJ (eg. May Faith Protect) that \"blew me away\".

Of course THIS still raises my eyebrows, albeit for other reasons...

Managed to find a photo of the two that I really liked although the photo of the void dragon is not that good there used to be more shots and larger ones when it was origonally entered into the golden toadstool.

I came back to mini painting after about a 10 year break so I was amazed to see what people were doing since I had left. One of the first mini\'s that caught my attention on this site was this.

Mainly because OSL was unheard of when I left.

Cake or Death?
I had been painting a while, but when I saw this, my conception of what miniature art can be totally changed. It\'s been a few years now, and I still go back and look at it for motivation.
