And here I thought Americans were number one in this category.

Britons Ahead of US for Fast Food

but that\'s because you don\'t have as many good curry houses or kebab shops.
only reason i eat reasonably healthy is because i can\'t afford the fast food lol

Ummmm Kabobs :p

I agree with article about the French not liking fast food..its the only place on a busy street in Paris at noon Ive walked into a empty Mc Donalds.. Yet the street cafe\'s are packed..

Looks a bit iffy to me, the only facts in that report which claim more Brits eat fast food is:

In terms of fast food, 45 percent of Britons agreed with the statement \"I like the taste of fast food too much to give it up\" ahead of 44 percent for Americans and Canadians at 37 percent.

And this is just that they like the taste, not how often, or how much they eat it.

The article is far to brief to put claims to nationwide obesity levels, and 44% of Americans is a much higher number than 45% of Brits.

What a load of shite.

I\'d be more worried about the fact that one of the ads for american popcorn proudly claims to have less harsh chemicals than before...

Fast food is popular because it is convenient and fat and sugar are tasty.

Head to any carnival or state fair and see that phenomenon taken to the extreme.

Does anyone know why obesity is less rampant in developed Asian countries where food shortage is not an issue? Does it all boil down to portion control or proportion of meat in the diet? Any nutrionists out there?

Yanks are still fatter. Just!

We\'re genetically programmed to seek out high salt/fat/sugar foods to see us through times of famine. Unfortunately we don\'t have those here any more and we aint got mammoths to run after either....

My solution:

The article is a bit . . . non-scientific but I couldn\'t resist posting it. I mean this is what made the headline news on Yahoo. I found it amusing to say the least.

You guys don\'t have mammoths running around any more? Oh wait, those aren\'t mammoths outside, just people disguised as mammoths and whales . . . sorry my mistake. :D

Sorry - have you ever had traditional British Cooking -

I\'d rather eat MRE\'s.lol

what\'s wrong with a good roast, some veg and yorkshire puds?

it\'s crap cooks that the english had a reputation for as they over cooked everything at one time.

traditional english cooking is just a myth nowadays due to the variety of cultures that have been living here for a long time.

Nothing wrong with that GP - I was referring to some of the more \"exotic\" ways of prep - like boiling everything until grey - meat or veg.

Or Bully Beef. Or black pudding.

Sorry, not eating blood sausages.

yes, that generation was fond of butchering food, totaly agree with you on that score mate.

but black pudding, that\'s gorgeous mate.
the saxons used to make it as a preserved food, full of iron as well :)
it\'s on the same scrummy level as haggis.

However bad the rest of us are, at least the US is the only place where this malady seems to have occurred due to consumption of popcorn (albeit excessive)
