Starting to look like a little home ^^ go on with your work... you seem to excel at it. Will you came over here sometime? You are thousands of times better than a lot of "professionals" over here...
Hoping you a fast and easy advancement for you, to have more time for your hobby.

So I have been pretty occupied of late not too much painting mainly working during the week and working 1 day on the weekend apart from easter we poured the concrete bunch taking off the framing this weekend :)

I will get some pics of a elf tree warhammer guy up some time that my brother inlaw and I are painting sometime too.

Do you mean that is a concrete countertop?

or is maybe a giant mould from a sculpted miniature of yours? xD

I have done a few minis of late so better get some pics up . . .soonish .

But Im quite excited to try my hand at 3d printing so Im
going to try making some 3d printed bases. the reason is I have been going to painting evenings with a few people from a gaming club who are mad infinity players.

So Im setting up a 3d printer tonight and spent this week making/drawing a few test bases. 25mm hex pattern.






specs 25mm base 3mm height + 1mm hex pattern, spacing between hex .5mm overall height 4mm

been thinking of putting different greeblies on them maybe some indents currnetly working on a pannel line cut out and a few other things to add to them.

In reality I think less is more, keeping them simple for the paint job rather than clutering them up.

what do you like and dislike about bases, these ones and others in general?

cool. i like the offset ones better than the centered one as they look more natural.

Zab has a very good point, they all look good, the one on the left looks like a turtle being centred but is likely to look different once you have a model on it breaking up the lines

Thanks guys I think I wont print the "turtle", After having a look and my friend working on getting the printer going . . we are calling it a night and will try again in the morn. Its a driver on the comp thats playing hard ball. So no prints yet.

cheers lads. 1st prints are pretty ok needs more calibration. You can see where its miss printed. Primed so you can see the lumps and bumps. infinity morat for scale.

more testing and I might have something worth while. . . . if not move on, nothing to see here hahaha

Looks like he is in a bad part of town where the fancy tiles have become all dilapidated ;) I say roll with it!

Those imperfections actually make them perfect for worn and damaged slabs. As this is 3D I would have thought each fault would be different therefore creating a unique base.
it may be as planned at the minute but it has its own silver lining
