For example how would the GW chaps have sculpted some of these toothy grins...
particularly the little guy on the bottom row:

They used a needle or a pointy hobby knife blade and probably a #0 clay/color shaper to smooth them out.

That, and they usually sculpt in 3x production size, digitally scan it and scale it down. Tech-wizardry it is!

Oh hell yes! I'm waiting for the day I can combine my 3D sculpting skills with traditional sculpting. Basically I want a holodeck and 3D printer combined...

I've made a start on the sword (perhaps a little too big...) and continued with the power claw:

hard to tell with the sword but it does look a little bit fat, my advice cut it out of plasticard like i did and add embelishments later when you are happy with the size and proportions
The claws are going to cause you trouble sculpting them in situe i would do them indevidually on the wires then drill holes and sup glue the in place once your happy....well thats my tupence worth happy xmas.

Definitely agree regarding the sword and will probably just use as a pratice piece.

As for the power claw, we'll see!
