really taking shape now. Take a look at the thumb on the hand that holds the plasmapistol - looks a little strange on the pic.

I actually noticed that just now myself... I think it\'s a mold line actually >< Glad it\'s just his thumb though. That\'ll come off tonight, if I have the strength after going to the gym ;)

I did have some energy left! Did some more weathering, fixed the mold line and painted the plasma gun... not entirely convinced of the results of any of it, to be honest :p

I can never seem to get the places where the paint has worn off to look natural. I just looks like I tried painting silver while dancing at a rave, and chewing down smiley-pills.

Anyway, judge for yourselves:

Goddammit... another mold line on the gun ><

Worked some on my chipping techniques today. Not entirely unhappy with the way the shoulderpad and chestpiece turned out actually. The sword and that metal plate he has hanging down his stomach need more work though.

Also reduced the glow around the plasma some... definitely not the last layer of paint I put on that gun though.

Starting to worry a little that he\'s maybe TOO dark, but I don\'t know what to do about it. I can\'t very well highlight him too much more, right?

Hi there! No updates today or yesterday. I spent an hour last night working on the weathering (mostly the chipping) and the plasma, but not really much of a change to show you.

Today I should not paint, for everyone\'s sake... hopefully there will be another update tomorrow! If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve this guy, then now\'s the time. He\'s nearing completion :)

looking very twisted and corrupted - well done :)
Can I ask how you clean your FW models before painting?

Well, I used a simple scalpel this time, and just cut the moldlines and residue away... He\'s my first one though, and I didn\'t do a very good job unfortunately. As I\'ve been painting him I have found lots of little weird things that I had to remove in the middle of the paintjob. Not good!

Some more work... tried to get some red back into the armour, started painting the leather bits, redid the plasma some.

Wow.
No kidding. That\'s a mini that looks like it just came from a survival horror videogame or movie, so realist and detailed. You can imagine see this guy chasing his victims in dark and dirty alleys of some abandoned city ruins...
Gold trim may need some washes to mute down the highlights though. Keep up the good job.

Thanks for the tip, I will look into it :)

This is one of the few models I have painted, if not the first, where it actually looks better close up than from a distance. It\'s standing on my desk as I\'m typing this and it\'s just so... dark. All that gritty, rust and wear looks rather nice (to me at least, I be pleased) when it\'s under proper lighting, but in real life it looks rather bland, compared to the super highlighted stuff.

I\'ve been fiddling around with a base for him, but I\'m not all that happy with what I\'ve come up with. That, together with me getting a new XBox 360 and Mass Effect explains the lack of closure on this fella. I really should get going with him again though, just some cleaning up and the base left to do. Silly to leave him like this :drunk:
