Excellent work! Sculpt is georgeous, and the pose, although not perfectly balanced, captures a great ambiance. I like th white background pic the bext, we see the model much better.

I still have the same comment I had before: You have teh talent and skill to go to the very top, I think you simply need to spend more time to refind your blends. The technique is all there, simply the blends aren\'t as smooth as they could be. Don\'t want to sound harsh, for originality, ambiance, etc, you get A+, simply on the blending side, spending a few more dozen hours could have probably gotten you Gold (though I haven\'t seen what got gold). Don\'T get me wrong, this is greatness! But next one, please!, when it\'s finished, book another 20 hours and smoothen out the blends so there are no more visible lines! Then you will have greatness AND a sword :beer:

Awesome job, you\'re making me want to reconsider entering the Demons next year...

Awesome!
It\'s not only that the OSL technique is spot on, but that it\'s applied so realistically. It\'s just right having the one little source rather than 17 glowing doodads throwing pools of light all over the place.

And its Chaos, which everyone knows is cooler than most things...

Oh that comparison is not kind! the models are so different.. your not really comparing apples to apples. Oh well, but now you see why the other one won... clean marine to a fault.

@Silphid
yeah.. im not sure what im doing wrong blend-wise. How do you go about blending vincent? I try and lay down a mid tone, then feather in very very thin layers of paint watered down till its almost clear. yet even by doing that i get deposits of pigment in odd areas or streaks and im unable to get that absolutely perfect blend. Ive never been able to do the classis \"Clean marine\"

Anyways, thanks for the feedback guys, i will try and post some WIP shots of it some time here, in addition to some more shots on white.

Both models are freaken cool ass models. They are painted in completely different styles. Personally I would be stoked to receive either one in the mail! No complaints here. Yes, Doug had smoother blends but that is something Adam will have fixed by next year! OMG it is going to be a dogfight in 40K single...I can\'t wait!

I wish I could simply show you how I do it Adam, It\'s hard to explain. Start on a white undercoat (even for your chaos model) and shade everything down with diluted glazes. If you\'re getting streaks and tide marks, you\'Re using too much watery paint in your brush, it has to be applied in layers so thin it practically dries instantly. Paint with see-through colored water, that\'s teh best analogy. That means going from bright to dark. Tell you what, invite me over and I\'ll come and show you what I mean :innocent:

Amazing...stunning...so many words I could use. I don\'t think the pictures really do it justice, seeing it in real life at GD was ultimate. Very chaos-y, again, I love it.

Cheers, hope to see you/your mini\'s next year! =D

Brilliant colours and lighting. Like Silphid says, this is the beginnings of greatness.

You\'ve got incredible style! :beer:

Hi Adam,

Thought your chaos was excellent. It is good to see people from the valley doing excellent work. Putting lights in my predator may be to gimmicky. I am going for a more painterly project next time. Twice entered. Twice made first cut. Third time has to be the charm...:D

Technically not perfect, but still a amazing job, the mood is spot on. I really like it.
Kinda reminds me of victoria lamb, same way of geting a great atmosphere and making vierwers forget that layers aren\'t so smooth. Kudos to you :D
