\m/ \m/ Super Heavyyyy!

Also

\m/ \m/ Weatheriiiiing!

Advice... it's a bit late for battle damage, that needs to be done before any paint is slapped on. if you mean things like bullet impacts, dented plating etc... Pin vices and Dremels don't go well with painted surfaces. You could still do them now, but then you'll have to repaint small area's here and there.
For advice on weathering, I'd suggest to browse through my BA Army thread, and FW Marine thread, I've did quite a few rants on weathering.

Edit: Oh, I did manage to find an old post where I wrote down my entire painting process used on my BA vehicles. SO here it is, Meph's Continental Plate Drifting Tempo Painting Process.

I guess you could boil down my entire process as following:
-Undercoat
-Basecoat
-Wash
-3 Drybrush highlights
-Glaze
-Wash
-Some highlight accenting with drybrush, if needed.

-Varnish with satin or gloss in case you're going to mask, not needed otherwise
-Apply masking and paint up all secondary colours (usually same as previous steps, but on smaller scale)
-Paint up all details

-Varnish with satin or gloss
-Apply decals
-Varnish with satin
-Apply paint chipping
-Varnish with gloss
-Apply oil wash
-Varnish with satin or gloss
-Apply grease (oils paints)
-Varnish with gloss
-Apply acrylic washes such as heat discolouration, to darken the recesses of vents if needed, and such
-Apply black weathering powders for soot

-Varnish with satin or gloss
-Apply mud & dirt weathering
-Apply some graphite straight from the pencil and rubbed on scrapings on metallic edges here and there.

-Varnish with Satin or matte, 2-3 layers
Done!

That's starting to come along quite nicely. The washes really makes the colours pop.

Hmmm for the Baneblade... How about some paint chipping, oil smears, soot patches, kill markings, war prayers, warning labels, worn off paint where crew climbs over the plating, mud, dirt, a WW2-style nose art, purity seals, webbing, etc etc etc?

someone must have really pissed off the commisar " paint those rivets gold, then paint the tank, then paint the rivets gold" they used to do something simular in the army it involved a large heap of coal and a large drum of white wash. by the way have your eyes stopped weeping yet lol.

The desired level of weathering is up to you mate. Personally, I feel: the dirtier, the better. :D

Looking good as-is though, but still a bit fresh. :)

lol cassar, yeah I insulted the commissars mother so he made me paint all that! I was worried Id be summarily executed so I think I got off lightly. . .
Cheers meph, I think you are right - I will dirty it up some more - I tried to do some rust effects last night by stippling mithril silver, then vermin brown then blazing orange but I wasnt that pleased with the result so I painted over it.

An amazing job mate.

I've never even attempted to paint anything as large as a baneblade before and I think you've done a great job as is! As the lads have said before me, the amount of weathering is all down to personal preference.

I decided that I was happy with the baneblade so I have submitted it for voting, i'll post a link when active :). Now, 5 more tanks left, about 100 odd guardsmen, 3 sentinels and of course a lord commissar and last but definitely not least a warhound! Phew!
