I really like that camo technique mate, it's very effective. You must definitely be getting used to using that airbrush now.

I still think your crazy painting each of those rivets individually, but crazy in a good way!

Rust is looking good.

lol thanks, I have the "small" project in holding pattern at the moment, kind of waiting for some inspiration to be honest - really want to do it justice it's such a great model

Looking much better.
Before this update it was a bit more rusted in the middle...
now you have more rust in the bottom!
Looking very good.
With the rest of the weathering you'll be able to better blend the really rusty and the less rusty parts and it will look fantastic!

Thanks sagh ! Do you think I should rust up other parts of the tank too such as near the bottom of the tracks ? In terms of the other weathering you mentioned do you mean the dust effect I have applied to the other parts of the tank and general scratching ? That's what I was planning anyhow .. . Thanks again

That "nudge" of rust in the top of the tank on the left side looks very realistic... more rust and you might start to loose the camo and have just rust.
The shovel of the dozer is a place that will have a lot of rust...but don't forget to make some scratches in the teeth of the shovel caused by it hitting hard stuff (rocks, metal, concrete).
Well, but with all the painting you already made it's probably not possible to make the real damage in the teeth, but you can at least use a bit of (and sorry for the noob choice of words) shiny paint to represent the scratched metal.

Yes,I was referring to the dust. I believe it will look great!

(Sorry for my english...it's not my first language... sometimes my speech may look strange :p)

And thanks for the advice paintingpauper it was your idea to add more rust to the bottom and it looks better for it so cheers mate ! Sagh, your English is more than fine, you type it better than I do most of the time and I am English lol ! Thanks again guys. I plan to add the dust/silver bits to the blade tonight and other general tidy ups on the tank, so hopefully will add a new pic or two again this evening. I was thinking about the red/white/red striped area on the side of the turret - do you think I ought to put something in the white: such as a decal or a bit of free hand ?

Well, actually, a dozer blade is a place where you would find the least amount of rust if the thing has bee in use, as the friction will rub off the rust. If the Chimera has been sitting idle in a compound for while, then it will be rusted up pretty good. So it depends on you mate; rest rusts, or action friction!

good thinking meph, maybe I will stipple on some chainmail to the bottom bits (especially the teeth) and leave the rust at the top of the chainmail so it looks like the bottom part of the rust was chipped off ?
