Right, this is a post about social acceptability and childhood conditioning.
Whilst in the house alone the other day, I needed a wee (pee, wizz, slash, number 1). I toddled off to the toilet (bathroom, WC, can) and - out of habit it seems - closed the door and locked it. Why? There was no-one around the place! I did the deed and then puzzled further over the same issue. Consider...I go out to the pub quite a bit and I happily visit the urinals and wee all over the place (depending on levels of inebriation) with not a care in the world, yet in the house, even when empty, I find myself bolting the door and indulging in privacy!
Further to this point, I wondered why weeing in the streets is against the law...what if you\'re going to pee yourself? Is it better to have a wee in the bush or pee your pants and lose all dignity! It speaks of the breaking up of society if we\'re told it\'s indecent to wee in the street only to find that there are no public facilites anywhere!
Anyhow, made me think. I\'m going to the toilet now.
