I feel faint....

Oh Minimaker...you are about to make a Jack Sparrow/Avicenna model. Two of my favourite men in one model!! What more could a girl ask ;) I simply have to have one of these....oh, hang on, I already do! lol lol lol

Whoa! Calm down ladies! I\'ll be sculpting Pete as a Science Fiction pirate and I\'ll be taking some inspiration from Jack sparrow (though I\'ll probably go for a slightly more elaborate jack, captain hook type) . I\'ll not be sculpting Jack Sparrow. (Checks to see there are no Disney Lawyers at the door :) Phew, all safe ).

I believe there is actually a figure of Jack Sparrow around. 54mm scale or larger. I\'ve just send a mail to a friend to ask if he remembers what company it\'s from.

I feel sick because first of all there was that disgustly self-gratifying press-release for Paint Aid and now people are sculpting each other. It\'s all too much. For God\'s sake can people crawl any further into their arses?

Sorry, I\'m really quite cheesed off now. And this is morning time when everything is clear. I\'ve not had a drink or anything so I\'m writing this without a fear of embarassment at a later date. I am compis mentis or some such.

Pheew.

for gods sake rev, let people have their fun - your unconstructive criticism and deliberate attempts to shock and prompt reaction is getting boring.

Sculpting a likeness is a real challenge - good luck Ming-Hua (I\'ll get you some pics this evening), and well done itchy - looking good!

Actually rev, I think their is a whole movment happening around the world about what you so nicely put : \"people crwaling into their ass\". I think the correct term is egotist, I have a couple news paper article about that lying arround I\'ll have to go check.

But quit frankly don\'t see what you\'r complaining about, if I feel like sculpting someone els for my pleasure or to please somone how does that affect you ??? Do you really have to come and complain about it ???

@reverend :
a) I need training at sculpting;
b) I suck when it comes to faces;
c) Some CMONers have very interesting faces (and I say that in the noble term);
d) They are people who I appreciate;
e) You should have stayed in bed.

Ahoy there mateys!!!

Actually.....I do have a 28mm Jack Sparrow figure. I bought him at Salute last year from the Honorable Lead Boiler Suit company I believe. A lovely little model he is too... ;)

My reference to \'..I\'ve got one already\' was re Avicenna ;) :innocent:

That would be the Depp character from Pirates of the Carribean, yes?
If so there is a pirate captain bust that is based on him but not very good. I have a pic somewhere from a local show where someone took the bust and added the beaded locks etc. to make an incredible likeness. I\'ll look for it.

I hope the 28mm Jack Sparrow you\'re refering to is an actual mini and not some name for a certain person\'s certain piece of anatomy. :p

*edit*
Or would that be \"Little Peter\"?lollollollollol

Okay Pete, apart from this post when exactly have I \"...deliberately tried to shock and prompt reaction?\"

I backed the people of Paint Aid as you are well aware, saving my annoyace for the pomposity of those who tore into me for suggesting they could make more money for charity by tweaking things a bit. At what other time, this morning aside, did I fire \"unconstructive\" criticism at people? Let me tell you Pete, the language used on the first page of Paint Aid has actually pissed off people with its self-indulgent crap. There are some people who are using it as a way to massage their egos. It\'s like a love-in. If you feel my earlier post was directed at you I suggest you go and speak to DR or finn or whoever and report me for flaming. If you\'ve got no grounds for that then back off.

Origineel geplaatst door ipaintminis@tooshy- i was kidding. im not very good at that whole sarcasm thing...:]:D
Pst, I think Avicenna refers to \"P 3 Captain Jack\", available in the US through http://www.rlbps.com/RLBPHlbs.htm Unfortunately no pic. And the boiler site is down which is no help?

So, who exactly are you flaming? Should it be me: sculpting is fun to me and if somebody helps me on an idea I don\'t mind doing something in return. Especially not if it\'s a challenge.

Minimaker, I was not flaming, just venting my anger at a trend. I can do that if I want.

Well as long we\'re venting anger, I think you\'re a twit.

But that wasn\'t constructive nor was it meant to be.

I do think you have an overall bad attitude and express it quite liberally, which is your due and want, just don\'t be aggrivated when people decide to bitch back.
