Many still \"say\" they are looking for commitment but in the end are rarely seeking a mate. That\'s why I shudder at the overused term \"relationship\", because it has that long-term ring to it without actually meaning anything.
When I was dating, I was definitely looking for something with a long-term commitment; that\'s why I didn\'t get married until I was in my late 20\'s. I wanted to make sure that I was with someone that was also going to be commited to a long-term relationship (she said she was, but when an ex-boyfriend of hers showed back up, she was gone in a shot).
Granted, after my divorce there were a few women where it is was just physical thing, but those were \"the rebound\" and they were fine with that since they weren\'t looking for anything serious or long-term. Once I got over all of the garbage from my ex, I decided not to worry about trying to find a girlfriend or even think about a serious relationship. About three months later, I was dating a wonderful woman.
