Confessions of an Idiot

That seems to be fairly common practice

I even read in the \'News\' the other day that one of our number has set up a little eBay store selling such goodies. You will find it here:

freebies...disposable droppers

Now don\'t all hit them up at once but...
I visited Perfector Scientific (I believe I got this lead from J.Haley\'s site? My apologies if I\'m wrong) and just requested some of their free samples. Lots of nice \"eyedroppers\" and small containers. I use the eyedroppers to deliver water/retarder/magic mix. I too pre-mix my retarder (a la dnaGRIM\'s article) and store that in one of the freebie containers.
Thanks

It\'s amazing that GW can go on a big campaign to add value to their paint line...and still roll them out in these crappy little pots. That probably cost more than the simple little eyedroppers.

I\'m sure they don\'t want to pay the few thousand dollars to retool their manufacturing. But they\'re looking at it the wrong way.

Would they sell their paint business to Vallejo for a few grand? Cause that...imho...is exactly what they\'re doing.

I always got the impression that GW wasnt happy either with the \"new\" hexadiagonal (sp?) bottle, but that they had to keep that contract. Until then, we (= the painters) had to do with that.

Nowadays, I think that they dont care. This way they sell more paint !

Drinking my water

Well, I find that every so often, since I use the same kind of cup to rinse my brush and to drink out of, that I will slam a whole cup of my paint water.

This happens i think because I\'ll be painting and surfing the web at the same time. So I just reach down while reading and wet my whistle. Then I go back to painting and go to rinse my brush and the cups empty. I get kinda worried then look over at my fresh full glass of clean drinking water and just chuckle.

Try Scotch or lager...

Less easy to confuse with your rinse water but still has a deleterious effect on your painting - and health. But hey, live fast and leave a good looking corpse!lol

With bloated multi-coloured lips, it would probably give the coroner a good laugh. :innocent:

Cats, etc.

OK, so the \"wet pussy\" thing was kind of a joke, but really - my cat drinks out of the paint water all the time.

I\'ve got one of those big \"brush buckets\", so she just comes along and helps herself.

I\'ve gotten to the point that I keep a spraybottle on my desk, so I can sqirt it at her as a warning. Also works great to wet down my pallete.

I do. I recently bought over 100 bottles from Western Plastic at .24 us each. I then transfered all my GW, AppleBarrel, Howard Hughes, PollyS, and Armory paints to the bottles and labeled them appropriately.
I thought I was buying lots of extra bottles but after pulling all my paints out of their corners and cubby holes I found I only had about 10 bottles left over. One of which got the FFF/water mix in it for diluting on the pallette. I also put distilled water in the bottles, even the vallejo ones so they drop more easily, and I put a glass bead in each bottle to help shake it up.
