Looking very good jakob! Maybe introduce a little bit of red in the shadows and tail as well just to tie it together even more. The concept art looks really cool as well.

Avelorn: Yeah, I am considering the red. I will do the base tonight and then see if it is still needed or not.
REally a question about getting the complete model looking wel-balancened. Thanks.

Next three images to the painting gallery has been uploaded to my site.
And I believe that my gallery needs a "fast-forward to the latest uploads"-button.
Need to get that done, but first images here for you.

Love the actually horsey bit, I find it incredibly difficult to get anything natural looking when painting horses, thus my current stance over never painting horses again.

I do and I dont like it.

I do like the conversion and the flawless painting, it has been very interesting seeing this come together.

I dont like the base..I dont get it, why is it on a ball?

Please let us in your mind :)

Thanks. :)

The base makes the mode look a lot more dynamic - the way the centaur jumps gets empasized by the base being small with a round top. You can get under it and look at the model in a different way that on a regular plinth.
So the wobbling action is more of curious bonus...
Also, by having the base this small the model sort of breaks the space defined by the base very effectively.

To be honest, I didnt think it was all that fantastic (excluding the converting part) but now I see the end pictures, it's truly amazing. But don't you think the tutu looks a little daft (is that the word? /blank? /to much white?)

I for one really dig the base. I think the ball is really unique. I'd just be terrified if I were working or judging that I'd breath on it wrong and it would roll over! ;) I also love the fur painted on the horse portion, and the bit of space left inside the cutaways to give the impression you're really looking inside something functional. Now we see why you took all the pics from one side. Surprising you didn't hold that out until the contest.

Anyway, love the finished product. It's totally unique! Good luck!

I am blown away, Khavor told me at the shop how awesome this was, words did it no justice. Good luck, and that ball base is an awesome idea, just wish I had the nerve to try such a thing! I knew there was something going on with the other side!
