One and I have to say I can paint an ork as good as anyone then I logged and ND saw it was under 8 this got me very upset...this ork is fantastic so what gives I don't believe demi had any enemies so why is this strapping young lad always fighting for the score he deserves I dunno but it's really grabbing my goat by the nads...

I paint my thumb.
Maybe seven is the new eight.
Gave an 8, and an 8 is awesome in my books. The face and its surroundings are the high point, the pants and some other parts are low.
It is good, and I know BAM wants all his friends to get straight 10s, but we all know it gets even better, and the craft as a whole gets better, so we need the space between 8-10 for 'even better'.

Being and feeling underated and under-appreciated is the path most 'artists' have to walk, and on this path we strive to get even better. m2c

I noticed that also. I don't know that much about computers, but maybe whatever robot program DR mentioned is still attacking Demi's gallery.

A little different to your usual style, nice to mix it up. not quite the same colour transitions. but very imaginative base Bravo :)

Thanks guys! I think this piece is a CMON "8.0" Every time I post a picture I hope it will be a 10 but there are just a ton of great painters out there. As for the low initial score, it went active on Monday morning so maybe people weren't feeling as generous as the Friday afternoon crowd. As I mentioned the goal on this piece was to finish an old project and have some fun, so Objective Complete!

I am going to shooting for some nines coming up though, so thanks in advance for the critiques.

Thanks Guys!

I had a free day today and spent most of it trying to come up with a base for Jeane D'arc. I think I am going to stick with the tried and true paste+ballast+broken-up plastic bits, but I did come out with some neat and relatively easy base ideas.

The trick with the mesh one is to paint a gradient on the base first, then paint a gradient on the mesh, then glue them together. The other one has just been sanded smooth and grooved with a couple of scoring marks from the knife and then I widened the scores with edge of a file. Paint gradient with airbrush and line the groove with white, add your favorite inks to taste.

What do you think?

The look striking, very corvus bell. No reason you can't use these as parts in the tried and true. You could have rubble and debre underneath and then a small platform of either for the mini.

DEMI I am VERY LATE but congratulations on placing in the Dark Age contest!!!

Voted on the Ork, I have to join the choir and say that the base is awesome. Crazy color choices but I think they worked in this particular orky situation. And those bases are smoooooth.

Thanks all!

I got my gift certificate for the Dark Age contest. Now I need to figure out what to spend it on. Does anybody here play Dark Age? Some of the robots are pretty cool and there is a big lizard rider guy that looks pretty awesome :)

Okay I have Joany on her base. I love to here if you guys can suggest any tweaks. I tried to doa little OSL thing but it isn't as nice as I had hoped. Tell me what you think!

I like it, needs some more powders on the concrete she is standing on brought up from the base in places.

I play Dark Age - if there's nothing you want from the range, I'll happily buy it from you. Or did you want advice on what to get?

Oistene I need advice on what to get. If I have $50 I will just spend it groceries or gas or something useless like that. I NEED MORE MINIATURES!~ Do you think I should pick up a starter faction? Do you have any favorites?
