Thanks guys.
So after I got the kid-o's to sleep last night I was excited to do some painting and I might have botched it. Not a complete disaster, but I think I went way to heavy on my shade coats. The one on the left is shade coat plus orange brown tinting. One on the right is just shaded. It's got some good shadows and texture I just wanted it to be a lot more green.
I am going to try and add some highlights with that Burnt Orange and then do a ghost tint type spray with some transparent green and keep my fingers crossed.
What do you think?

Personally love the one on the left. Love the deep brown red glazing you got going on. Looks very natural, like straight out the swamp.

The one on the left looks great. I know your after more green but can you use that as a final highlight ? Also using an all over thin green glaze could help adjust the hie to what you want, prior to final highlighting.

One on the left not cause it's a tad darker but it looks more realistic in terms of scaling.

I'm with everyone else, the one on the left looks really nice. The color seems just right for the big scales. I'd cut back on the orange brown as it goes around to the front and onto the legs. Maybe try a bit of yellow in there or more of a sepia shading tone. There's a lot of good reference imagery online, here's one I grabbed off a google image search. In addition to the dark to light variation, a number of them have spots or stripes. I might avoid that to start, don't want the image to be too busy. But I'd definitely go with a dark back transitioning into a light belly.

Okay so I have some variation across the three mini's, which is great. The one on the left in this pic is my favorite. You can see the golden green color I was going for. I am going to mix up a little bit of very thin transparent green ink and give them a spritz with the airbrush. I am hoping I will get a little more pop and a define some of the back regions a little better.
The middle guy in the photo shows where I am headed with the underbelly bits and lower face. After looking at Bailey's croc (alligator?) Picture I will probably try to work the white back up into the scales more than I had originally planned. The sculpt is going to help a lot with this, as some of the scales get softer as they transition to smooth parts of skin. I think this will help me blend back into my scale colors.
