I used epoxy resin for the skeleton and it was sort of mistake. You have to pour it in tin layers and in real life you can see the layers very easily. The pictures came out pretty good though :)

I did sculpt the sand bags from Magic Sculpt and it was pretty easy. just roll out a snake like you are playing with play-doh and cut it up into sections and stack 'em up. Once they are stacked you can squish them down to make them look more realistic. I also pressed some fabric down onto them to make them look like they are made of burlap or something.

You might are far from Santa Cruz, but you are very close to Bailey who is an avid member of the forum and I think one of the best miniature painters on the west coast. He goes to some meet-ups that might be close to you. Check out his WIP:

I appreciate those groups of little "vignettes" although i am not a fan of ww2 miniatures and they ressemble to those too much for me. They are really dynamic, and those footsteps are great, I can see it already full of mud xD

Thanks! I have the privilege of talking to Bailey on a monthly basis, because we are both part of the same hobby club :) His WIP has inspired me greatly as well.

The good news is I wont have to scramble for jobs for quite some time. The bad news is that if I can even finish I will probably throw all my paints out the window.

Wow Ben, that's a ton of work. How many figures ? And to what standard are you doing them ?
ive just landed two orders of about 130 each but yours seems to top that.

I think about 250 figures, 10 tanks, and around 30 walkers and dreads, plus a bunch of random stuff. All top quality with some conversion work and custom bases.

Congrats :) That is a lot of work. Don't forget to do some fun quick projects for you in all that to avoid burnout. What is the timeline like?

250! I've been at this for nearly four months and I've painted four. And two halves. I envy your chance to paint more, but don't envy your task...

Hmmm, I remain skeptical. i dislike those open ended things because they are great until suddenly there is a deadline that comes out of no where. I know you are fast and talented, but make sure you maintain that discipline too so you don't get caught out when the easy going client suddenly decides they need them asap ;)
