I used epoxy resin for the skeleton and it was sort of mistake. You have to pour it in tin layers and in real life you can see the layers very easily. The pictures came out pretty good though![]()
I did sculpt the sand bags from Magic Sculpt and it was pretty easy. just roll out a snake like you are playing with play-doh and cut it up into sections and stack 'em up. Once they are stacked you can squish them down to make them look more realistic. I also pressed some fabric down onto them to make them look like they are made of burlap or something.
You might are far from Santa Cruz, but you are very close to Bailey who is an avid member of the forum and I think one of the best miniature painters on the west coast. He goes to some meet-ups that might be close to you. Check out his WIP:
