WOW that is a hell of a lot of work!! Take it easy and start on it! you can break it in little batches or you will end up crazy!! (Anyway I thing you already now this or won't have started commissioning LOL)

I also commented and voted on Deneghra ;)

Wow, now that's a big commission! Is it all Adeptus Mechanicus or are there multiple factions in there? I see some forgeworld kits but I can't tell what they are. They've got some cool sculpts, I'm sure you'll have fun with them. Good luck (you're gonna need it)!

When you send it back complete you should totally put a note in with the tanks that says: Tanks for the commission :p

The DKOK guys are done. Pretty happy how they turned out although they came out a little shiny. It's works pretty well with the mud and all though. I will throw a gallery pic up pretty soon. You can see how my splash of red worked out. I think it adds a lot too these guys.

In other news I taught my first painting workshop!!! And it wasn't a total disaster :) Only 2 guys showed up, and one of the guys was the shop owner although another dude wandered in for a little while.

It was pretty fun hanging out and getting to hear myself talk and everyone was really excited for the next one in a month. The most surprising thing to me was that I actually had some stuff to show them. We spent a good hour talking about spray can primers and using them for zenithal priming, then I showed them how to use (somewhat controlled) washes to lay down color over an entire figure. Sort of an advanced dipping technique :) The guys were pretty excited to see a mini get shaded so fast and one guy was able to complete a half-way decent table top paint job during the class. Pretty cool!

First time using Realistic Water and I was a little disappointed by how much it shrank as it dried. Still looks very wet, but I was hoping for a little more depth and translucence. Those f'king resin barrels are impossible to get perfectly straight.

I'm glad that the class went well! Online tutorials are useful, but I'd love to take a class with someone I could actually talk to and ask questions as they occur to me.

Screw that crap. Use SW water fx. It's more predictable. Still good lookin' though. Congrats on the teaching gig!

Good job on the DKoK, I really like the muddy bases. And great to hear about the class as well, if it went as well as it sounds I'm sure the next one will be packed :)

Thanks guys! I might hit the DKOK guys with some matte varnish, but my photo set-up tends to be make to make accentuate the glare.

Speaking of shiny, here is a little project I have also been working on a little over the last couple of weeks. It's inks and smoke blended with metallics. Trying to draw some inspiration from Skelletets.

I really like what I have so far but I am not sure what my next step is going to be. I am thinking about dabbing on some pale green with a sponge. Maybe some more blue? Red paint chips? all of they above? Any thoughts? The foto is a little washed out.

Nice job on the Death Korps guys. I love the style of the sculpts and I think your painting has complemented them very well!

Congrats on running a painting workshop. It might have been small, but I'm sure the ones who were there will spread the word and more will come next time. Sounds pretty successful to me!

ACES!!! And i love the way they pop on those bases! I am doing up an ironstrider for the NOCF this year to auction off as well as maybe a couple of WoK werewolves and possibly a malifaux demon lady. we'll see if i can get 4 minis done to display standard in 4-5 months o_O
