Those are Rhino-body kits modified into bunkers, I doubt GW is that bad as to just turn Rhinos into drop pods....but then again, I wouldn\'t put anything past them:flame:

I think we\'re fortunately safe on that one. I mean, they\'re grey, with no chapter-specific colours or badges. And they have moss on them etc, looking rather more like emplacements.
If i recall, somewhere there was an article on how to make them, and they were down simply as bunkers (to think i still remember the card one they gave out with (i think) WD 169). It\'s not on the net tho as far as i can see, so perhaps i\'m wrong.

They still have artwork showing the normal ones (p29). I think the design\'ll be going for a while yet.

Well I dont think what your seeing is moss but ground work thats been carelessly sifted onto the structure. When they set up these shots for the books they sift green ground work material to blend things together for the shot..To me it looks like thats what might of happend. One of them is definately a tech marine structure or \"Pod\" too.

They may not be a drop pod as we all think of one to be but I dont take them for a fixed position, but something that was just put there. Might of been placed by a thunderhawk.

I alsways find that if gW took the time to put something into a cosex, they useually make a model for it eventually.

As for it looking like a Rhino, since the Rhino and Landraider look similar in design and feel, what makes you think they wouldn\'t do the same with a drop pod. It doesnt have to look like the one Forgeworld did.

Well, i\'ve got no proof. Just my opinion. I think they look rather like one-piece prefab buildings - useful for quickly fortifying an area if you have a thunderhawk transporter. So yeah, a variation.
I agree they don\'t look fixed. I mean, the way they taper at the bottom isn\'t that useful for a bunker, especially one with foundations.

I guess i am a bit biased - i do hope they don\'t end up with something like that. it just doesn\'t look that aerodynamic. Can\'t imagine them being launched at a planet. And if they are something a little different, as above, then i\'m out of arguments. I just irrationally dislike them!

I can\'t yet imagine how the normal current pods can be scaled up for 10 men though...
