An idea of salary might prompt some serious responses.
Just seems to me that the wage is so Mickey Mouse that you all keep schtum about it. If it\'s improved so much recently, why not use that as an incentive to apply for the position?

Minimum wage in the UK has just gone up thats why
In a lot of cases, wages are dependent on experience and skill level. If you\'re already at or near the level the job requires, then obviously you\'re worth more to the company.
This might be the case here, but generally speaking it\'s not always considered good form to be demanding salary info before applying for a job

As long as it\'s enough to live off of, it would be more than worth it to me. The experience alone would be priceless. I\'m working on a special addition to my portfolio before I submit everything on Friday.

Damn, am I ever jealous of people who have \"free time\" to do stuff like that. I\'m so buried in books for University, I haven\'t been able to pick up a brush in over a month. I\'m a Fine Arts major and with half of my schedule being art classes it makes it easier to get some painting in (plus my watercolor class was canceled today as the instructor is out of town, so I had a full day off!)

I switched to a double major at the last minute, I am doing 5 Comparative Literature courses since all my Psychology requirements are met by now.
5 C LIT classes (how can you top that acronym btw?) is pretty overwhelming when it comes to sheer volume of readings. I have somewhere in the ballpark of 20 novels, 3 anthologies (the big 4\" thick ones), and a few hundred pages of journal articles to read this semester. Should be a treat lol
Oh yeah, and a stack of essays to write at some point or another. Sadly that\'s the part I actually look forward to...

At least the wage for a trainee would be nice, especially if it is a year long trainging course before you get a normal salery.

Align that with the trend that some companies will ask the prospective employee what they think the job is worth.
As someone who has recently stood as a reference for someone I also have discovered that some companies will ask the referee what THEY think the candidate is worth. Not a situation I was or am happy with.

A public forum probably isn\'t the proper, erm... forum for requesting salary info. If you\'re serious, contact GW\'s HR folks and express your interest. There are a lot of factors that go into creating a salary offering. Experience, moving expenses, education level, demonstrable portfolio, etc.
If you\'re honestly curious, apply.
As for me, I just mentioned the position to my wife. Sadly, she rolled her eyes at me. Clearly she has no respect for my current obsessions and a lack of empathy for my deep-seated, childhood fantasies. /sigh

I think this is a brilliant opportunity for someone.
I couldn\'t manage two days of continual painting without going mental so I tip my hat to those of you who can manage this for a living.
I do think its a bit off about people slating the position and moaning about the wages.
These people do this job, which they are proud of, slagging the pay is a slap in the face for them..... do they deserve it?
Im sure its not the best paid position in the world ... but i am sure that there are many many others that are worse.
Doing something you love and getting paid for it is an enviable position to be in.
I know pay is important, but when I advertise a position I never advertise the pay rate. If people want to know they get in touch.

of course wages are always important, but in a business that strives on fun or enjoyment money isnt always the most important factor.
