nice work, might i suggest that you paint one of their knee pads yellow to balance them out a little, im presuming here that the hips are yellow as well as the breast plates and painting the knee the same might take away from the yellow bathing suit look. just a suggestion.. the bases rock if you pardon the pun real gritty tarmacadum road surface look there.

Some work in progress scouts, once again no insignia and need to finish the camo cloaks and do a general tidy like the spot on the power cables and fix the wonky eyes. Its amazing what you spot in photos lol.

Oh yeah they obviously need basing lol

Also pick up some elodie mae empty shell casings to scatter on the tactical marine bases, as long as I don't sneeze as they tiny!

No white undercoating for me

spray black
basecoat - iyanden darksun (GW)
1st shade - Graveyard earth (GW)
2nd Shade - Scorched Brown (GW)

Shading is done as dilute washes working into the shadows with repeated passes letting the paint dry in between. Don't know the proper term for that but its what I do.

Then I tidy up any messes with the original basecoat before

1st highlight - 50:50 Iyanden Darksun (GW) : Golden Yellow (VGC)
2nd Highlight - Golden Yellow (VGC)
3rd Highlight - 50:50 Golden Yellow (VGC) : Ivory (VMC)

These mixes are approximate and are applied a bit like the washes using thin passes working to the lighter bits lol

Then I just use a thin glaze of 50:50 Red Ink (GW) : Yellow Ink (GW) all over the yellow.

Then Hit it with dullcote, im still using old dullcote as i stockpiled.

well I have a bit more progress the photos are crap as I took them on my window sill as too lazy to get my light tent out. Got two more scouts ready for there camo cloaks and got started on a rocket dude and sergeant for the unit to represent telion and fit the scythe fluff. Not that most people care lol so onto the not so pretty pictures.

More progress, managed to get some work done on these last night so the squad just needs there camo cloaks and basing plus the usual tidy up.
