It may be the angle of the photo, but the proportions here just don\'t quite look correct. His head seems a little bit too big for the rest of his body for one, but that could be the way the photo has been taken. I think the main problem though (and I can\'t imagine this is an illusion caused by the angle of the photo) is that his torso is far too skinny and at an unnatural angle.
It looks like you have started working on the breastplate before bulking out the musculature beneath it correctly, which has given it an unnaturally skinny appearance.
I like that you are attempting a dynamic pose though. It will make for a far more interesting finished product. I also know, through several failed attempts I\'ve made at 54mm models in similarly dynamic poses, how much more difficult getting that look right is.
It\'s vital to get the musculature of the entire model completely sorted before moving on to clothing, armour etc. If you get this stage as perfect as you can you will avoid all sorts of problems that could pop up later in the build process.
I think you need to work it back so that you are left with the armature and basic bulking out, then spend a good amount of time building up the various muscles.
If you want to improve how you go about sculpting the musculature of your models then you can\'t get a much better guide to the process than
this. Watching these videos by Freeman was a real breakthrough moment for me. He makes it look so simple!
Sort out the groundwork and all of the details you then go on to add on top will look even better.
That advice may sound a bit overly critical. If so, please don\'t get disheartened as I\'m picking on the things that really need to be improved rather than focusing on the fact that you clearly have a lot of ability. I\'m just trying to avoid just going \'wow, he\'s bloody good at this considering his age!\'
