Since GW stopped selling bitz (much to their customer’s chagrin) do you think it is ethical to cast your own? Would you be willing to buy recast bitz?

Sure, for personal use - why not... but... What if it\'s a rare and old mini? what if you get your personal use out of it, paint the mini, keep the mini, display the mini and then after some time, sell it to someone as part of an army?
What might be a common mini or part now could well be rare on the collectors market later on.
Ethically, because of the grey area, I guess I can only say that I would never re-cast anything as some poor collector might buy it thinking it was real later on down the line and I may forget what\'s genuine and what\'s re-cast.
Of course, this is just me.
