Hi all!
i just finished this fig last night, so i decided to post it here on cmon. The strange thing is that one pic is on 9.1 and one is on 8.2.
this is a massive gap in scores, i think someone out there doesn\'t like me:no:

Anyway it would be great if you could take a look and vote on them please!
And any comments would be cool.

This is Ezekiel 1 (currently on 8.2)
vote here!

Thanks all!

I love the sword. Wicked colour. Its certainly far better than 8.2 but alot of folks are hard to please these days :(

Alot of users vote lower on re-posts. The larger pic does look slightly better and old school minis don\'t seam to score well either. :( (i learned this through my own experience not so long ago and i must admit that it got to me slightly)

Can i have the colour recipe for the sword BTW? :D

Happy painting

1. At the moment I looked, both minis had less than 50 votes ... be patient. So few votes aren\'t very significative;
2. A 0.9 difference isn\'t that big, specialy in the 8-9 zone;
3. Voting is very subjective and nothing garantees that those who voted on the first mini are the same who voted on the second.

On a personal note, I\'d say that the overall painting is very clean (a bit too much for my taste), with a special mention for the blade and the freehand on the robe and the back banner. But the base could have been \"worked up\" a bit and some battle dammage could have been added to the armor IMHO.

Hey man.
Those NMM-sword blades that you paint are just gorgeous. That said, the techique certainly reveils itself as illusionistic when you look at the (supposedly) sharp side of the blade. Naturally this also shows with normal metallic paints but somehow it springs out a little more in NMM. Don\'t you agree?

But for the model and paintjob - superb. A 10 from me. :)

In the close-up people can see how clean it is.. simple as that. However I\'d say right now 8.7 is more a more realistic score IMHO for that particular mini. I\'m glad you guys aren\'t sniped away anymore but comparing to other minis that you\'ve painted that almost made me faint (read Eldrad and the Chaplain) this doesn\'t stand out enough.. I voted a 9. Super clean work.

As a general comment IMO I\'d also think you might try to reconsider the uniform lining on the armour... Make it lighter where the plates facing upwards and darker facing down. And also more difference in general light.. making surfaces facing upwards slightly brighter. It wouldn\'t take much more time and detract from your style but would mean a great deal of difference when it comes to consitency of the light. Great job non the less.

I saw both these when voting last night, and they were around the 7 mark then, so they are going in the right direction though!

I also feel the larger pics are scoring higher because its easier to see how stupidly gorgeous the mini is in them, you talented bugger, you!

My impression of the sword was that it has been made from some sort of stone or super hard crystal, and thats a cool thing, and certainly an original take on it.

Regardless of the score, you have a superb mini here. well done.

Hi!
Thanks to all who posted and voted!

@Darkartminiatures-
This is how the sword was done-
*basecoat of shadow grey all over the blade.
*mix in regal blue to the shadow grey for the shaded areas (very thinly done)
*then use regal on its own as a darker shade.
*mix shadow grey and warlock purple and white for the first highlight
*keep adding white for a few more highlights.
*the blade was given a few coats of purple glaze.
*then very thin chaos black was used as the darkest shade
*and to finish white was used as a sharp highlight.

@green stuff-
yes the painting is very clean, this has always been my usual style of painting. even if i try and paint dirty things they end up looking clean!;)
and i couldn\'t really do too much with the base as the guy who has the fig wants it to fit in with his army.

@Jakob-
you are right about the NMM blade mate, it\'s all eye trickery! i do like doing them when i can (see the saim hann farseer and warlocks in W.D) and it adds a bit of BLING to the fig!:cool:

thanks again to all! Daz

Very clean and crisp style, i really like it. the sword is cool but the base is rather hohum when compared to the rest of the figure.

Already done!? Looking extremely crisp as ever, and I like the simple base as it is. No need to put figures on platforms...

Well I’m not a big fan of the sword, I think the reflections gets a bit strange when you paint them like that. Also I agree whit Avelorn about the armor, but still I like the miniature and you get 9 from me. :)

Well, that is just stunning. Certainly an inspiration for us painters still developing our skills. Other than the comment already made about the uniform armor coloration, I don\'t see anything to critique. Crisp and clean (with no caffeine)!

Amazing piece ase useual.

Im curious how did you go about doing that armor? I love the Blues.

Oh and your scores have about evened out at 9.1 and 9.3 now.

thanks again for the comments!

@Dragon forge design-
the blue armour was painted like this-
*basecoat of regal blue
*wash chaos black into the shaded areas
*mix in ice blue to the regal for a few highlights
*then use ice blue on its own for a sharp highlight
*finish with spacewolves grey on the sharpest edges

cheers! Daz

Well I cant say that I don’t like old school, but I’m a bit bored at it (that is how I have painted up till my last model...).
Any way your colors are really smooth and I can see that you have a brilliant Technique :)
