Thank you, I've been a Fan of Harlequins since I first started playing 40K lots of years ago and have a Metric Fudge Tonne of them (some of the troupes are painted as well). But after the last release I was disappointed with the way they were posed and structured.
Still I'll have to get the finger out and do something about them if just for my own satisfaction.
DR, I like your version more than the GW one, especially the white "holographic" parts. Nice deep blue on the cloak. That said I'm outing myself that I NEVER liked the harlequins.
I never liked the checkered colour schemes in comparison to the other Eldar troops. I never liked the Wraithlords with masks too, they look like a Venetian carneval robot....srry...feels wrong for me in comparison to the other Eldar troops which look slick and futuristic. I love these designs! I'm a very very fan of the Eldar and played them myself some years. The Falcon is one of my favourite tank designs! Tastes are different DR. I like what you did with this miniature though.
I don't know where the GW designs are going to, but after that new Nagash design it killed my interest in following it. It's becoming more and more a G.I. Joe Toys Are Us cartoony style...Don't get me wrong, I love Warhammer stuff, but the last miniatures they put out...
Okay enough bitching...
Another interesting point is that GW adapted to the design people had for the Harlequins for many years! The new Harlequin jetbike is exactly the same look as people modified them into for years. Maybe GW should pay the people for copying their designs.
Maybe lower the prices!?
@darkk: The lines on the pattern look better. You use washes right? I think you used a brown one on the hilt of the axe, right? The yellows would look better with a brown wash too. As of now the are very intense. If you can do it you can blend the yellows to a brown on the lower parts of that drill thingy. Yellow is a very difficult colour to paint imho.
for the lightning part: I really like your composition, of the bolts. You could do some drybrushing to get softer transition on the blue on the back of the orc head (which is coming from the blue light!?) And for final a white drybrush on the upper parts and small white dots on the energy balls.
Hope thats info you can use orimport on the miniature.
All is my personal opinion though!
@oistene: This miniature looks so tiny? It's smaller than normal 20mm figures right? I Like the skin colour!
