Hey, I registered, clicked on the link in the email and it sent me to a page that said, \" Your account is already active. Redirecting you to the login page. If this does not happen automatically, please click here. \" so it sent me to the login page, I tried to log in, but it said I wasn\'t activated and I need to click on the link. I don\'t like computers. They are dumb.:D

nothing wrong with #13, my birthday is the 13th (April ;) ), & quite frequently, has also fallen on a Friday :D

great job so far man thats gonna be cool when it\'s all up and running> yesterday my id# was 20 now it\'s 28 I got bumped I am not cool enuff to be in the top 20 :( but great site anyways:D:flip::bouncy: and thats for the bump:moon:

I think it\'s definately got potential. Another feature that would be nice, is on the search, the pull down always lists every country, if you could make it something like the browse interface here on CMON, so only countries with painters registered are shown, and have the number in parenthesis. Just to keep ya busy. :D

filled out the \'other info\' box but when I updated it didn\'t retain the info
is this a \'pending\' feature?

Another thing I was thinking about last night was advertising. Maybe at a later stage (when we have enough membeers) it may be worth an ad in some of the modelling mags like:
Wargames Illustrated, Harbinger, Military Modelling, just to name a few
I wouldn\'t mind paying a small \'registration fee\' to enable us to do so

Totally agree Mick,as long as they are relevant mini related ads they can only benefit the user.

EDIT just re read your post Mick and it seems I got it wrong.Still agree though.
Im thinking more along the lines of banner ads on the site.This would fund developement and \"your\" site advertising.
Theres also the banner exchanges.

Whos gona do a banner though????

By the way, there is also somebody else who had somebody in mind like the minisculptor site. I\'ve dropped him a line to tell him about the plans for this site.

Galante\'s shield looks good though it looks familiar. But, er, can you add a sculpting tool? :D

we could ask \'Little Wonder\' (Ally) on eBay, she\'s pretty good (english understatement) with PSP. She has a website too

I prefer the longer horizontal banners though and Im sure someone id better at me at doing them,well evryone really.

Eh eh, I actually thought about including one, but since I did that in less than a minute I couldn\'t be bothered :D

But we are just brainstorming, don\'t go by my idea. Klute\'s suggestion looks very good, although I have to be honest and say that the letters don\'t do much for me. Maybe a different font/ color?

Frustraded Father, where are you? You\'re pretty good with logos too! :)

Regarding the publicity to the site, I think it\'s better to wait a little first and see how things go. The banner exchange seems like a good idea, but to pay for publicity seems a little premature to me at this stage.

@Galante:Oh yeah, i did mean later, when the membership has grown, but if we want to generate work from it, it will need to be advertised at some point. And not just on the internet, not everyone has or wants a computer ??? .The banner exchange is a good idea for now tho\' :cool:

Hello again all!

@mickc22 : I took a look into the problem with updating your other info section. I tested both the version on my PC and the live version of the site and i had no probelms updating mine. If anyone else has the same problem can they please let me know.

As for the logo idea, it looks good, though i would agree that the lettering cold do with being much bigger and bolder, or the background faded out a little. The logo size has been restricted to 350px wide by 100px high. While im on the subject, I was considering the use of several logos, selected randomly on each visit to the site. The same applies to the banner advert. That way, a few people would get a chance to showcase their graphical talent. We could even vote in a fresh batch every few months or so. What does everyone think?

On the subject of advertising, Its something that will be done! Ill also, at some point, be placing a PayPal donate button for anyone who wants to contribute (not so much a \"registration fee\" as a \"gesture of your unconditional and unfaltering love for the site\" :) ).

As a little teaser, the next upload will include the chatroom, a Java based one that connects to the Afternet IRC network. I look forwards to seeing you all in there!

Keep these suggestions coming in thickk and fast! EricJ, your suggestion will be added in on the next upload, which will either be later tonite or early tommorow :)

Just a suggestion, maybe you could add a fine black line around the letters just to see if they stand out more.

Hey, last week I said on the other thread that I\'ll have a bit of a play around with a logo. Took a little longer than I\'d hoped as I got dragged out for the weekend with my gf, but here I am now and have thrown together a few designs.

Please note that these are all fairly simple \'mock ups\' if you will and pretty much anything can be changed/added etc. And if you dont like any of them then I\'ll scrap the ideas and have another go :p.

Also I am a little limited on the front of images to use, using google image search to find the globe. I was thinking originally using some painted minis, but then it might be too much like CMONs logo. Things like paint brushes, tools etc I think would work quite well but I\'m not sure where to get any to use (im not really that great at drawing things tbh :/)

Let me know what you think. I\'d also be willing to work on some site designs for you if you want.

Definately no.4
Frame it dark though so it stands out on both light and dark.

How about a crude animation of the peeps waving their weapons?
