My first WIP post - inadvertently posted to the gallery (I must be more technically challenged then I thought!)

I feel there\'s something not quite right yet with this one. Perhaps not enough shading?

Any comments are welcome

Wow! What mini is this? it does rock!!

Its hard to give constructive comments with the pictures, the black horses flesh looks totally flat and way to glosst to see properley.

Flames look cool, and I like the osl on the horses leg.

The green cloths look ok, the hightlghts are nice, and I love the dirt, but could definatley use some shading to add depth and contrast.

The silver grey areas look very flat too, although as this is a WIP could just be basecoated.

Welcome to the forums and hope this has helped a bit!

Welcome to the forums!

great first WIP indeed, couldn\'t agree more with OrkyDave about everything he already has mentioned.

maybe the whole thing has a bit too shiny finnish, but then again it\'s not finnished yet. don\'t forgett to give it a dullcote.

@ OrkyDave - This is the nightmare mount from the Malice the Blackguard figure by Magnificent Egos. It has been a blast to work on.

Thank you for the suggestions. I\'m heading back to the work table to build up the shadows and those flat areas. I will defintely dull cote this guy before the next update is post.

Hi there -

Finally had a moment to try the suggestions

Added some more shading and color layers to the hindquarters. More to go, but I hope you see an improvement.

The highlighting on the black has been started. I originally when with gray/white but wasn\'t happy with the results.

Sorry about the gloss/glare - its more my photo than the figure.

My biggest achievement was learning how to include the image without adding it to the voting gallery :D

Well if nothing else thankyou for drawing my attention to another mini company that was previously unknown to me.

Instead of hosting your pics on this site why not open an account on one of the free image hosing sites like photobucket and link to it from there. I tend to upload finished stuff to the CMON site (unfortunately quite a rare occurence) and keep WIP pics on photobucket.

As far as the mini goes the shading on the hind quarters is looking very good. If you\'re going to get a sense of continuity you\'ll probably have to do the same kind of OSL effect that you\'ve done (very nicely btw) on the front to the robes and armour plates at the rear.

Can\'t wait to see the rider

We now have a rider.

Still need to add some OSL to the inside of Malice\'s cloak.

Any suggestions for other areas to work on?
