Another Project?

Itchy and Provoke_me --

I\'ve got the new Reaper tsunami relief
figure Harapan:

http://www.reapermini.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=2552&cat=0&page=1

I like the figure, but I\'d like real legs on it....with real feet. Wouldyou guys be willing to do this?

Yeah, that\'s definitely a mod we can do. Looks like it already has elephant feet, so i\'d just dremel down the pants and GS on some \'phanty legs... but what about the gentalia? in school once, i saw a nasty documentory involving elephant mating... don\'t need flash backs if you know what i mean lol

oooooh, sorry...what I was thinking about were human legs and (and human feet) comesurate in size with the arms and torso...looking for the elephant god Ganesha look, bellowing his commands out to the troops...

so actually it\'s a removal of the legs, buildup/swap new human legs on...genitalia? Didn\'t think about that, had thought about keeping the (loin?)cloth, but genitalia (HUMAN-sized!) would actually be cool...

Now to dig out all those \"nature\" films on video to do the research....

:D

well, if you\'re keeping the pants then the little elephant bits wouldn\'t need to be there at all *wipes sweet from brow* So, you\'re looking for smaller legs and human feet? Yeah, we can do that.

But what I want is the proud, powerful (long-limbed) elephant god bellowing orders to his troops (not the small elephant boy crying for his mother)....

Really, the figure I\'d like to realize is the Hindu god Ganesha aka. Ganapati (remover of obstacles, leader of the troops)....

Wait a minute...what about two more arms on this figure?:D

This is a great work you\'ve embarked upon, Provoke_me!

I\'m a little confused

Your initial endeavor sounded cool, either making custom minis from scratch, or modeling a head after a real person. I got this picture in my head of all the Forum members done as minis, in all of their CMONic splendor. Barbarians of course, including females in fur bikinis.

But...it seems all most people want is some moding. I don\'t get it. Not to take from you guys, but wouldn\'t it be easier to find a figure with the part they want and add it to the one they have? There must be at least two dozen figures available with birds on the arm. Take a hawk, paint it black = Raven. Want human legs on an elephant? Cut a pair off an ogre figure and add them on. This is a lot easier then making custom add-ons. As far as the cat figures, Reaper makes three available now, and there are many in the Age of Aegyptus line. The mouse would be tough, but only because it would be too small to make out any details. A rat would be better, even though the size would be wrong. Long hair and fur on a cape?! That is some serious waste of good talent. All of these things are simple procedures.

Your original concept, custom minis, is something you should stick with. The talent is there, you guys could be a sort of Fantasy Fufillment service.

Speaking of which, I want a Brittany Spears, Christina Aguilara, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Hillary Duff as minis... ummm... wait a sec. Hillary\'s only 16, better make it the Olsen twins, their 18 now, right? Oh yeah... and they have to be in chainmail bikinis... no wait! Fur bikinis with chains on! Yeah yeah... and... ummm... me in executioner\'s gard... with a whip... and... errrrr... uh oh... I gotta go.....................................

Have you thought about the fact, that most people don\'t have enought money, to get a whole new mini made?
I have a pic, I really want a mini made from, but 60€ is a lot money for a fancy.
So, I you have a mini, that\'s close to perfect for you, why not let add the parts, that would make it perfect. It easier and cheaper.
Beside that, I want to be sure the guys are good enough to get it done the way I want it.
I mean, no offence, but they are no pros, of corse their cheaper, but I wouldn\'t pay any money for a only halfway good mini, then better not at all.
Besides, everyone has to start small, if I\'m happy with the animals, they might still get the comission for my dream- mini.

( Of corse I could have bought a mini with a raven, and then add him to my mini(in fact, I have one), but then I would have destroid the claws to switch it, and it would have looked silly. And the mouse... I DON\'T WANT A RAT, and you can\'t get mice. So...)

Fur bikinis with chains on!
If I can give my 2 Euro Cents of advice to Itchy and Provoke_Me : refuse any commision that has chains in them ... takes forever to do :p.

I think it\'s a great idea. You already seem to be doing well ;). It just happens to be a little outside of my, well... nonexistant budget.

Normally one offs of a mini cost hundreds, but we know normal people can\'t afford that because they\'re not going to turn around and have it cast. But we\'re thinking somewhere between 30 and 60 USD.
Just to sate my curiosity, is that price just for the modeling of the head?

Anyway, Good luck to you!

@ MarkusTay

The conversions I\'m asking Fish-Dog Workshop to do are beyond my skill as yet. I want to spend my time painting something I like, hopefully later on I\'ll have the opportunity to build up these skill.

It\'s a wonderful adventure that Itchy and Provoke_Me are starting on. If they don\'t want to do the conversions, that\'s okay. If they do, I\'m game. Simple as that.

@ Provoke_Me

Are you up for Ganesha? (hoping vigorously) :D
