Ok, I\'m just going to come out and say it straight...

I love the Flash Gordon movie! I\'ll watch it any time it\'s on TV and have done since I was a tiny childling. The only thing I don\'t like about the film is that there was no sequal! Brian Blessed is the God of shouting and Topol as the mad rocket scientist was inspired. My favourite scene is the American Football style battle. It\'s unashamadly camp and great fun, so there

I never understood why the universe\'s savior has to be some Cary Elwes look-alike that has en vogue babes hangin\' off all his arms and legs---

Why can\'t the hero be some dumpy, middle-aged, balding nerd from the hills of north Georgia? You know..more of a Peter Griffin lookalike...

In case you wanted to know, they\'re releasing -tomorrow, actually- the remastered \"Saviour of the Universe\" version of Flash Gordon on dvd.

I was just thinking I\'d rather see them do a remake of \"Flesh Gordon\" \"Flesh\" was a better movie than \"Flash\" was - other than the soundtrack. It was an intentionally bad, intentionally cheesy combo of low-budget SciFi and low-budget porno. Who could ask for more?:bouncy: And, yes, there was some great clay-mation sequences.

My understanding is that it might not be a remake, but based upon other comics in the barbarella universe. What does appear definite is that Robert Rodriguez is directing.

Drew Barrymore seems to be the frontrunner according to Google sources. Although Kylie\'s interpratation of the opening sequence in one of her videos is more memorable than the original film itself :drool:
