And I\'m sure they didn\'t go down to the local SPCA and grab a random cat...computers are amazing these days.

My viewpoint explained

Well as a mother of a young child, I was thinking of kids who would see this. I don\'t think they\'re first thoughts would be, \"Wow, that was good CGI!\". I\'m afraid it would be, \"Wow, that was funny! Let\'s go slam the neighbor\'s cat\'s head in a car door and see if it\'s as fun!\"

Making it looks as realistic as possible is disturbing. If it wants to be funny, IMO, it should try instead to look UNrealistic.

I never have liked Fords,
and now I like them even less...

I think you guys take this too serious... back when I was a kid we blew up frogs and harrassed the local wildlife in general. Kids do bad stuff to animals, most of them don\'t understand death in the first place. Your kids will probably m-80 a cat in the mail box. stick a bottle rocket in a place I will not name. it happens.

I personally am more upset because most \"parents\" don\'t watch their children they allow them to run around get in gangs etc. The parents spend more time worrying about johhny calling their kid a g-punk then the fact little johnny owns a 9mm and smokes weed. Yet they want to blame the media. FORGET that! I was a bad kid. I burned animals alive.. apendage by apendage. YES, I did enjoy every single kill.

I had good parents who saw it and sought help for me. I have the psychological profile to have become a VERY bad person. Imagine if they hadn\'t I might have grown up and done that to a person. You cannot sit there and say children won\'t slam cats in doors etc. Children can be quite terrible people.

It is not the media I knew chior boys who were sons of a priest who have done many, many bad things. If your kid is slamming a cat in the door YOU need to talk to the kid. Odds are it will help the kid grow.

Oone thing you probably should be glad about... although I wasn\'t.. is the fact there is no blood spraying out of the cat. IF I did this cgi I would have an anime style blood spray across the windsheild followed by the windsheild wipers coming on to smear the cat off.

That sounded insulting. I find no problem with my post. I re-read what you quoted it has nothing to do with any of your comment ???. However note that it is unapreciated. I have already been cleared psychologicaly. so I was trying to say that MAYBE if your kid is slaming a cat in a door then you should get your kid help. Are you saying that YOU are without personal flaw? I am sure you have your flaws, I have no problems mentioning my flaws. I have gotten past all of that. That is like saying alot of the christians who have been saved are still out doing drugs and sining.

I can see the humor in the video. I do find it mildly amusing. Those who think it should be mediated out of the forums might be a little too quick to judge. As for Smoth sounding proud in his post, I read it as pride that he has overcome some of his flaws. As for children not being able to see it, I dare any parent who lets their child online to show them some of the videos posted and see if they haven\'t already seen them. The only reason media warps the minds of children is because the children are being raised by the media instead of their parents. Another dare for parents: Add up all the time your child spends directly influenced by you in a day and compare it to how much time you set them in front of a tv, radio, or computer. We wont include reading as a media cause if your children do that, who cares what they are reading, you\'ve got them going in the right direction. The only children who would see that and say \"Wow, that was funny! Let\'s go slam the neighbor\'s cat\'s head in a car door and see if it\'s as fun!\" should be disabled or go to a shrink. Children frequently are more intelligent than some adults; they have less experience. Any child who has seen their parents get a divorce know that the parents can try to hide it but they are not fooling anybody. Just because a child doesn\'t have deep reasoning doesn\'t imply they cannot determine that something so heinous is wrong. My sister who has downs would find this amusing but would know better than to emulate it.:flame:

If you truly mean to serve others, as the example NOT to follow, to enlighten parents as to signs they should be looking for in their own children and through attention and therapy, claim to be healed, why then, include a more vivid, detailed version of an already, graphic act of violence?

If you mean the example of taking the video a bit farther.

I was trying to make light of the subject, Duende was saying that an exagerated version that was less realistic would have a lesser effect. Well in my exagerated version, I think more people would have been offended.

personaly if it was gory I would have laughed harder. That also is the concensus among my college buddies.


I am glad that your intent was not to attack me. In most other forums stuff like that is meant as an attack. This is a forum for a more mature group so I didn\'t flame back with the hope that your intent was not to flame me. That is why I tried to carry a humor tone to my post.

The whole part about maybe there is hope for redemption was where I got peeved. I laughed until then because I thought you were joking.

I am a computer science major.

Bad times already happened. January my apt burned down. So I lost all my minis... it definitely helped me clear out my unneeded bits . It sucked because my place was right next to the fire source. I had pretty much everything excluding the paint I had at my folks house and my 40k tau army.

My skeletons were the only thing to survive as they were in my chesex(SP) case under a pile of clothes etc.. the clothes kinds sheilded the minis.. although 90% of my skellies burned. All the rest were a big slab. I have a peice of the slab one day I am going to sculpt a mini and cast it with that peice.

So things were pretty bad. My GF was in the same building she was watching my turtle and her roomate grabbed my turtle and saved it from the fire.

So all isn\'t lost. A lot but not all. Either way, that is probably the worst thing that could happen because I am a computer science major. I lost a lot of tech stuff, including reference books all my old notes etc.

In fact that is why I am up soo late, I had to study for a computer science test tommorrow. I\'ll probably do just fine, but thanks for the encouragement.

Thanks, I really like it here. From what I have seen this is a great little community where the main concern is becoming better artists.
