hmm, pretty good, but i think you could kick it up a notch

you should work on the hair/crests; they detract from the overall quality of the mini because as they look kinda rough, dont add anything interesting, and take up a lot of real-estate. sorry to be harsh, but there'll be some tough competition and the minis need to look polished. try some advanced hair hi-lighting techniques (light arcs, high contrast).

The squad on there freshly finished base, i didnt do full coverage with the flock to keep the focus on each member and not my basing skills because they are weeeeak sauuuuuce. I dunno what my chances are but it was a blast painting these guys... LIES!! The experience was horrible and monotonous. NEVER AGAIN!

Tell me if you like it or if you think it stinks and should go away

I love these. Some of the best Eldar I have seen. I also love the base idea, where a little bit of the base is carried onto the plinth. Genius.

Would love to see more shots of these.

as of now im going to mask away all the model and airbrush all the armor. even the armor thats done becuase i cant paint it all. for two reasons. i dont have time to do by hand and two (the biger reason) becuase i cant remember what colors i used hahaha but then i need to do the giant back pack and shoulder pads and its just alot of shit to do, and the axe ahhhhh!

@skelly i need all the luck i can get at GD, ive been checking out winners from other years and its really depressing to see all these really well done units. I hope you dont make a suprise appearance with your ork unit, i dont think we could be friends anymore if you did

I got a question, Im aware of the guidlines set by CMON that the pics you submit must be 100kb or less, and less than 600 pixels wide. Are these STRICT guidlines because I am seeing pictures that on the website that come out 1000 times clearer than any of my pics, and for this particular picture I had a good camera on hand. Can anyone enlighten me on whether or not I can stretch the KB or the width to ensure a sharper image? Has anyone done it and have it not get rejected by the site? Let me know if so please!!

looks really great dude, cant wait to see those guys, the three of us from nyc pretty much worship eldar as our main race, the tank my friend is entering is eldar and its the best convertion i have ever seen. if he sold it to forgeworld it would sell like crazy. he did one and painted it up and the other one he just converted for the convetion contest. youll see! he'll probs love your guys. anyways, my spacewolf armor is coming along and i have some confidence that i may be in shape to finish him up this week. it would be great becuase him done would give me a good chance at at least winning ONE demon hoooopfully.

Im sure you'll get him done in time if you just PUSH IT TO THE LIMITS!! Walk along the razors edge!! Ignore all friends and family for a week it will be worth the payoff even if you make it past the first cut. Have you talked to Brice lately I havent heard from that guy at all for like months. Maybe he died? Hope thats not the case but he said he had some possible entries that I really been wanting to see. And ya i definatly agree with your statement about Eldar! They fuckin rule...DEATH TO MON KEIGH!!

I know that you are trying to keep that dark and dirty fell but I think that the faces/helmets should be a focal point and you need to highlight them a little bit more. They are the same value/shade as the rest of the mini. Look at any famous art there is a focal point and it is a bit lighter that the rest of the picture.

They do look really good as is.

@ cocanour I 100% agree with you. I don't want to place all the blame on the photos because I could have probably found a way to emphasize the heads some more (be it with highlights or contrast colours), but the faces on all the members are the only places where it is highlighted to pure white. It's not insanely noticable but it is there...Im probably just going to leave them as is because the comp is only in a couple days and I've been beat tired from work. So I'd rather leave well enough alone than risk dropping one or in my daze of sleepiness. Thanks for the input though hope your entries are coming along

giant spacewolf will be done, last two days have been crazy painting! i have about two days left of painting for the next like day and a half. but its happining. armor is all done, so is most everything. all i have to do at this point is airbrush and paint the packpack, paint a shoulder pad which i have zero idea what color it should be. and then pretty much enhance everything on the model which is already done. most detials, like just shade and highlight everything more. ill be doing that untill the last second!! I also painted the frost blade yesterday. its pretty sick. with blue interference paint.
