The problem has never been with the paint, but with the pot. Although they're intrinsically linked you shouldn't criticise the one because of the other. E.g. :- I used a Vallejo yellow once - the coverage was rubbish, the finish glossy and I struggled with blending it where it was so watery, but the dropper pot was a joy to use... I suppose that it's relative to the amount of paint you get through - I'm sure I'll have at least a couple of dozen that either need some paintomancy performed or are heading for the bin, which is bloody annoying when you come to do some painting.
Over the years the quality/consistency/etc of GW paint has improved vastly and it sounds like this latest revision should mean that you know you're going to get a consistent coverage and finish regardless of the colour. Yes they are very expensive in comparison to other paint ranges and time will tell if the new pots will keep the paint better than the "perspexy" pots they used for a while. It looks like the slightly flexible plastic should provide a better seal, but who knows?!
I'd heard rumour that the name change was that somebody had made a blooper with the last company who produced their paint (this wasn't Cote D'Arms) and transferred the names over, so instead of paying to transfer them back (which would have pushed the price up) they went with new names. It does have the benefit that if you're reading a guide or somebody is referring to a colour, you're going to know exactly what range it comes from. I suppose it's possible that the old paint company may try and produce the old range of paints too...
