Hello CMON Forum,
Have been coming here for some time and a big fan but never seemed to make it far enough into the forums!
Here\'s my first bash and showing a WIP here, hope you like it. Sorry I didn\'t start it earlier in the process, next time!
Mr. Color Gloss Black base and then the Mr. Color and Gaia Notes Dark Yellow and Middlestone mix for the main color, adding in white and yellow for the highlights. Weathered with Oils, Vallejo Acrylics and Humbrol enamels. Chips are done in 3 stages with the lightest color a mix of Vallejo Dark Sand and Lemon Yellow, medium chips with Vallejo Chocolate Brown and the deepest and darkest chips with Humbrol Matt Black. No real reason for changing to Humrol except that I wanted to use it for something different but it is handy if you want to wipe it off as the thinner doesn’t harm the underlying acrylics at all.
Will finish up with some pigments and so on when I match it up with the groundwork.
Groundwork for the vignette is a comedy of errors but might turn out ok. Foam for the base, Pla-Plate for the edge but will definitely use a thicker sheet next time… 3mm FoamBoard for the pavers and bricks in the junk and some “rippled” plastic sheet from the architecture section of a local art store. The earth sections are sculpted with Mr. Clay and have had a Games Workshop Rhino tank rolled through it for the tank tread marks. Rocks are from the 100 yen store and are for fish tanks, sand is left over from my wargaming days and the lightest dust on the pavers is Acrylic Stucco mix from Liquitex. Wood chunks are 1mm balsa broken into shape and rubble dust is from the bottom of the bag of plaster concrete bits and pieces. Posts are Evergreen styrene, drums and telegraph pole are from Tamiya 1/48 scale and the wires are 0.3mm brass wire.
A small squad of FireWarriors on the way, should get this moving over the coming weekend.
Thanks for looking,
Lin.K
