it\'s about what the judges think on the day mate, not about a photo or what has been seen in other countries.

pretty cool painting by peeps going from the pics, and kudos to gw for sorting out an awkward situation.

For those of you guys who werent at baltimore its gonna be really hard for you to understand why some of the stuff that won, won. yes open gold was weird and even andrew admitted he dident deserve to win, but alot of the \"questionable calls\" was about stuff that you needed more light and you need to see it in person to actually see how good it was. personally im very happy about how my pic came out. its up for voting!

Now, this is one amazing set of pictures, I wish I could steal some :)

No HMs though, not at least for now

Thank you, Skeeve! :) I admit, some of them are a little darker than I had hoped, but mostly they came out pretty well. Granted, there is no camera that can make an image of a model that shows it as well as looking at it in your hand. THe Open Gold, for example, is a LOT more subtle and amazing when seen with the naked eye. It\'s a GORGEOUS piece.

And Ansel, that photo I took of your model doesn\'t do the bust justice... It looks even MORE amazing with better lighting than I had. It was a large piece, so I had to pull the camera back a little farther than usual, and I couldn\'t reach in far enough with the bounce card on the left side to light that side and the underside front properly. Sorry about that. But really IS a beautiful piece!

Sorry for the double post. I just read the thread and it sucks that there are such ignorant people that go to these events and think it is ok to enter other peoples miniatures regardless of whether they win or not. It is also a shame that there is not some better way of investigating the miniaturesthat are entered into the contests. Although I question whether GW even bothers to really investigate the minis (not that they really can) because I know of past GD winners that used confrontation pieces in their winning entries and they won trophies and no one DQ\'d them. I am pretty sure that the rules say one can only use GW pieces and scratch build materials, not pieces from other miniature lines.

Really nice picks Dirty. I think they are better a bit darker it shows more of the detail. A lot of the pictures end up being so bright you lose some of the feeling.

Agreed. For example, the 40k single silver looked much better in real life. Less yellowish if I remember corectly.
