What´s wrong in Baltimore...?... Again bought Minis from Polish Painters at a US Daemon...?...

You could help avoiding entries like that... I mean, those are well known Minis after all... Someone must have noticed...

Yeah, we saw that but someone mentioned it was Ana that entered them. Whether they were hers or not they should have been DQ\'d though since the painter didn\'t do the conversion.

So... Have you reported it to a GD Official...?...

Anyone actually talked to Ana there...?... I am nearly 100% sure she was not there...

It´s the second or even third time in a row this thing happens... and it always happens in Baltimore... It´s sad...

You seem to have A+ Collectors there... at least that´s good...

Have to be 100% sure before they DQ anyone- can anyone get Ana to confirm whether or not she was there?

Zach

It is confirmed...

She is really sad and angry about that...:)...

At least the Name seemed to be hers... it´s interesting, because a guy handed them in... And her name is Anna...

Go Figure...

man that just sucks....and it is so wrong for a person to cheat like that. i cant stand it when someone does this. ana, if you are reading this just know that all painters in america are not like this. most of us are pretty nice honest people. again i apologize for the rest of us.

So who was the guy that bought them from her and entered them in? The GW folk will wanna know who to bar from future Games Days.

Yes, it\'s happened before. But the folks running Games Day are not gonna research EVERY model that\'s handed in to make sure it\'s not someone else\'s work before they enter it into the glass cases. That\'s impossible. They *have* to accept it on good faith. But, thanks to folks who are much more entrenched in the miniature painting community like you guys are, things like this can be found out, exposed, and corrected.

I\'m sure it will happen again. And I\'m sure the offender will be caught again. :)

My apologies to Ana. Her models are GORGEOUS!! Some of my favorite all day to photograph.

See if he cares. A painter would care for an obvious reason (and probably would never do something like this), collectors on the other hand will no,t because they have nothing to loose and a lot to gain (potentially)

Matt, Since you seam to be in contact with Ana, could you get the name of who she did the commission for and PM it to either Dirty or myself (since it appears to be he that entered them) and we can make sure it gets to the right person at GW so we can sort this out.

Thanks

Keith.

Heja Keith... I send her the link to this Thread and I am sure she will write something by herself soon...:)...

I think the Name of the Entry was Ana´s indeed... because of that, I think that the Person, who handed it in had no bad intentions... He even congratulated to her after the Event (via Mail...)... stupid thing, really...

Of course, checking one´s ID is not the right way, would take far too much time... maybe asking the Entrant briefly, whether it is her or his model would do the job...?... It´s all about trust, of course, and it´s good that people do it right... In addition, 999 out of 1.000 entries are allright after all... Great ratio...

It´s good to see that you people care about all this... Really... People might think that Games Workshop doesn´t give a Sh**ite about Golden Demon Entries as long as they get the Picture done, but I can see after you post, that it´s not like that...

*I* took the photos for GW, and I *definitely* care!! :D

Even with the best intentions, though, the guy still disregarded the rules. It states clearly that \"all work must be done by the entrant\". It does suck that Ana couldn\'t be here to enter them and win the Demon herself. They are truly amazing to see.

Cameras still lack the precision to capture all the subtleties of hue, saturation, and value that the naked human eye can, and these models will never look as incredible online as they do in your hand. Each model really is a work of art.

The CMON crowd strikes again..

I think GW needs to send Matt to every GD so he can check the entries..he seems to know them all ..Great catch Matt!

Thanks for your care, guys! It means a lot for us, indeed!

Although I am not Ana herself, I am writing on her behalf now.

It\'s not the first time that something like this happened to us (well, actually to two or three painters from the Chest of Colors team) that people bought minis and then entered them into competitions.

Twice they were \"lucky\" enough to win nothing, but then one person entered Ana\'s models and took silver with the entry. He felt so ashamed with this act that he immediately emailed the information to us, and forwarded the trophy to us. Unfortunately he entered the models in his own name, but GW were notified about it and asked what to do about it. The response was that the award might be cancelled per our request, but it would be a lot of work to undo what was already done.
As the person already apologized, confessed it all in public, and sent Ana the trophy, we didn\'t do much about it.
But the whole thing left a bit bitter-sour taste in our mouths. Some people (who don\'t know Ana in person) accused her of trying to win trophies in illegal way, but thanks to several people who know her and who admitted it wouldn\'t be like her to act like that, the whole noise ended.

Anyway, we thought it was already over and nobody else would do anything like that. But this time, after the GD in Baltimore, we received an email that Ana\'s won another trophy with the Dark Angels.

Hey, we thought, what\'s going on? She didn\'t even enter them in Poland because she didn\'t know who converted them and if the person would agree to entering them.
And the owner was aware of this. At least he had the guts to enter them in her name.
But what about the jury? Or is it not obvious in the US that Anna is a female name? ???

Still, we decided to wait for any photos or official confirmation that the rumor was true.

Now, thanks to Matt she learned about it and as far as I know they\'ve already explained it all to each other. Matt is much more active CMONer than Ana, so we can only thank him for keeping Ana up to date with what\'s going on.

I can provide the name of the owner who entered the minis to anybody who is in touch with the GD staff. Please email/PM me about it, OK?

The miniatures were entered without permission, but in the name of the actual painter. It\'s true - she was not present at the event, was not aware they would be entered. I don\'t think the owner\'s intentions were bad, maybe just a bit silly.

As for the author of the conversions - as I said, we don\'t know who did it, and I think this information is present in descriptions of these Dark Angels on CMON. And it was the reason why she entered the Nurgle squad and not these guys at Golden Demon in Poland.

If you need anything more - like information or stuff, just drop me a line, and I\'ll do my best to provide it promptly.

Thanks for your care once more!
