Well, it\'s about time a thread for Baltimore GD was started since there\'s only about a month left until it happens (May 13th).

So is anybody from here planning on going? So far I plan to be there, although I don\'t know if I\'ll have anything painted up in time.

Anyone?

:D

Only a month? AAAgggh.:|~

I\'m going, but I have hardly any time to paint anymore. I\'ll be lucky to get 2 things done.

OK - since I forgot to remind the attendees of GD LA, and we see what happened, I\'ll remind you all - TAKE PICTURES OF YOURSELVES! :D

LLS - I\'m counting on you to help me out here!

Wish we could be there, but it\'s during the school year and too far away (and Grumb may be in Brussels anyway).

Ya\'ll have fun!

Man, it\'s tempting, I don\'t have much to enter in the painting comp, but I had so much fun meeting everyone in LA, it\'s almost worth it!

Yay! the more the merrier!

@ Molebrain- I know how you feel, I\'ll be lucky to get one thing done.

@ RD - Don\'t worry! I got my digital camera and I\'m not afraid to use it (unlike some others I know ;) )

@ EArkham - :(:(:(

@ monkeyboy - Well, living in Glen Burnie you almost should be able to walk there!

@ EricJ - You know, whatever doesn\'t place in one competition can be entered in another! ;)

Anybody else? There\'s gotta be more people in the NE around here somewhere!

:p

Well, only about a week left until GD at Baltimore and it looks like a whole four cmon\'ers will be there.......
.....:~(

Where is everybody?

I had planed to go but as our store is a bit under staffed at the moment and I\'ve been to the most (11) out of all of us I will be holding down the shop that day. :~(

Good luck to all entering the demons this year.

Zach,
Good luck in MD. There better be some pictures of you holding demons next week.

You gonna make it out to either Chicago Games Day or GenCon again?

I\'m fairly ready since I don\'t think I\'ll be entering anything this year. But if you want to find me, I\'ll be wearing a tag with the image shown below and probably be hanging around the GD tables a lot and taking pictures with my digital camera.

Hope to see you (and the scant few else going) there!

Hi guys,

I hope so Dave, this things are always a crapshoot and from what I hear there\'s going to be some pretty stiff competition! I will be at GenCon again, but this is my only GD this year.

Duende I think there\'s probably others going that just haven\'t replied- we\'ll have to rat them out. :)

Well I took a total of 219 pics today, so I\'ll be spending tomorrow editing them all. Unfortunately, my batteries died before all the winners were chosen (rechargeables that were fully recharged the night before!), so I didn\'t get pics of them all.

I didn\'t meet any other cmoner\'s there :( so sorry if I missed anyone else who might have been there.

Baltimore was my first Gamesday. I had a lot of fun. I entered every Golden Demon category (except Youngbloods) and made the first cut in 6. The judges liked my stuff, I guess. They did photograph most of them. The winners were great pieces.

There were a few strange picks, IMHO, but overall, pretty good. I thought the 40k single and 40k large model categories either had some strange picks or the order was a little out of whack. LOTR had the weakest entries, overall (not saying they were bad, just the weakest in turnout and quality compared to Fantasy Large entries and 40k stuff). But I think thats the way things are with LOTR at the moment.

Hearing the judges say things like their picks were based on \"the spirit of the games\" makes one scratch their head when it\'s a painting competition, not a games competition. They give an award for the best painted tournament army, right?

All in all, I had a great time. Spoke with some of the other painters, winners and loser alike, and have to say they were very nice people. The staff was also very nice and took great care with the models. It will be a shame to hear all the trash talk from folks who weren\'t there when the results are posted or the pics aren\'t to their liking.

No trophies for me this time, but it was my first attempt and I had fun and learned some stuff. My 1st GD comp won\'t be my last. Hopefully I\'ll get a few of my runner up models posted on GW site or in WD. I was inspired to come back and try harder.

I\'ll edit this post as I prepare and add more batches, so keep coming back! :D

Albums:

40,000 Single Category

Fantasy Single Category

LOTR Single Category

40,000 Squad

40,000 Large Category

Fantasy Regiment or Large Model Category

LOTR Group or Large Category

Open Category

Youngbloods
- Sorry I didn\'t get many pics of the entries here.

First Cuts and Winners - Sorry for the many blurry pics in here. I noticed during this time that I bumped my camera and shifted a setting, but I figured a blurry pic was better than no pic. It was also during this time that my batteries died, which is why all winning entries aren\'t shown. Sorry!

Miscellaneous Stuff - Just some random pictures, also with pics of new GW and FW stuff (including NEW ELDAR!).

well it\'s obvious

IMHO, it\'s obvious what must have won the sword.

It appears Victor Hardy has unveiled Gulgotha again...

the 2 + year, 600+ hour project ...the work of art that people discussed a year ago or so...

http://www.villagephotos.com/viewpubimage.asp?id_=16935517&selected=

Hmm...if that didn\'t win the sword...something\'s probably wrong...
