GD get together mini WIP\'s

Making slow progresss on my dude... nearly finished his body, I\'m just scared to do his backpack

His arm is finished, but the auspex back isn\'t. Trying chipped NMM metal and failing miserably.

Trying (and also failing) that way of painting guitar strings as exemplified wonderfully by Silphid...

from the side, I can see that on the shoulderpad the paint is too thick:

So. A lot more work to do, and tidying up. But I\'m getting there, slowly.

Looking good every one. Penguin, trust me, don\'t be scared of painting his backpack, you\'ve done great so far, so I don\'t see how you could do bad at this point. Where is every one meeting then? (Just reasking the question for TheCadian to make sure it doesn\'t fade away, I\'m not going to crash your meet up, don\'t worry)

Bill.......stonking good work there; lots of good reflections, battle damage etc.......it\'s coming across perfectly. Backpack......just go for it! You\'ll do a marvellous job

as for the meet; I heard we\'re meeting in the NEC, on Gamesday.......

September 24th. Can\'t wait, it didn\'t seem like yesterday that I woke up at 7am thinking \'Santa\'s been!\' I mean \'Games Day\'s today!\' lol

This year I\'m waking up at 6am though. I wanted to be there at 9am, but we got there at 10am last time...

I got mine blacked up and based, looks like a good mini, although I didn\'t like them when they came out. I think painting him will be enjoyable

This is a damn decent thing for you all to do, considering you bought the mini\'s yourself and especially so close to Gamesday when you all have your own entries on your workstations too!

Thank you guys Angus: I won\'t be entering him to YB, I\'ll save my metallics for that one probably. Kislev dude is my entry at this point, but I have a couple of other minis planned which may come out a lot better... have to wait and see. As for meeting up, why not at the giant Space Marine statue? He\'s a good landmark :beer:

how do you mean, painting rig? I\'ve attached the base of mine to a 35mm film cannister.

I\'ve put mine in a painting rig as shown in Borg\'s article. The one using 2 pieces of semi-circle dowel, but I only had quadrant so I used 4 pieces in stead, looks quite good.
