I\'m starting up an \'office pool\' to see how long it takes for the \'ZOMG I can\'t believe the judges chose Model X for the Slayer over Model Y\' posts to pop up.

Just can\'t pull myself together to work on modelling project lately as you can see the number of minis painted by me last year I was planning on going to Baltimore this year, but the sinking floor at my house demands immediate attention - so hopefully (knock on wood) next year I\'ll be able to go to one GD --Lili

I leave for UK and the side trip to Paris GD in a couple of days.
Eric, Vincent, everyone else (sorry, can\'t remember everyone\'s names), good luck and my wishes for you all in GD LA.
Will try and log to the net to find pics the saturday night of the 8th to see what you all entered...and how they did...

Thanks Sanjay, this should be fun. I am actually starting to feel ok about entries here. Just need to finish a couple of weapons, and then some bases and i\'m ready to go. I think I definately could have done better without women and work taking up so much of time, but I\'m happy of the results regardless.

Well, i\'m gonna be stuck all day in the GOlden Demon area, but you guys are MORE than welcome to meet up there! That way, i can meet a lot of you too!
i\'d suggest meeting relatively early...maybe 11am or earlier. That way i won\'t be in the middle of shooting the winning models when you guys are around. i wanna be able to chat a bit!

Man oh man can\'t help but feeling rude calling you like that!
Anyway, perhaps there is a way for yourself or someone else from GW to make a roundup call with one of the mikes, call in the CMON\'ers to the GD area or something like that? Would work well to rally up for lunch.
@EricJ : I know what you mean, life\'s many diversion have also forced me to reassess the scope of my entries. But you can always improve a model, just need a deadline to end it at some point. Looks like I\'m almost done myself, bases left, and a few touchups. Being a gamer, Trophy or not, neat thing is I\'ll have new toys to wage war with after!

Silphid, I\'m sort of taking your approach now actually, pretty much planning to use GD\'s as motivation to finish this witchhunters army, got 2 pieces coming to LA, hopefully have 2 more ready for another GD later in the year. Give me a couple more years and I\'ll be set with one heck of an army!
I would offer suggestions of where to meet, but I\'ve never been to a GD and never to LA, so I can\'t picture the set up to figure logistics of it all, but definately meeting up for lunch would be a good thing!

i dunno if they\'ll do that over the mike for you or not. You could ask, i guess. i can\'t. i\'m just a lowly peon.
Eric: i don\'t think lunch will be a problem for anyone. In-N-Out Burger is right across the street from the Convention Center! i LOVE that place! We don\'t have them here on the East Coast.
We could all meet at Golden Demon at 11...spend an hour waiting for stragglers and checking out the entries already displayed...and then head to lunch about noon. That way, i\'d have about an hour before i needed to be back to Golden Demon at 1pm. That\'s when the judging usually starts (not that i\'m a judge...that\'s also when the photography gets in gear).
Just so i don\'t embarrass myself too much... i have a HORRIBLE memory. So if anyone has met me before, and i look puzzled, try not to take it personally. Besides...me being puzzled about SOMETHING is pretty much the natural state of things....

I\'d love to meet up with you guys and talk shop (something I rarely get to do.) I\'m only going to be entering one catagory this year due to.... um. don\'t really have any good excuses. Sounds like a plan to me, find each other around the Open catagory between about 11:00 and 11:15 then head over to get burgers, so if you miss us there, you can probably find us at lunch for a while after that.
Probably only takes one of us being loud and yelling out about cool mini to get the gathering started.
On the down side, looks like I\'m getting sick with something, so we\'ll see how well I can paint/base work while sick, and hopefully it will clear up before my drive down there on Friday.
On the bright side, my main entry is nearly done though, and I\'ll be glad for it, not quite as many hours as yours Vincent, but still will probably end up about 60-75 all told. Although it could probably use another 15 or so just to perfect things.
