Somebody needed to start a thread on this. I\'m planning on going, and this will be my very first GenCon! (can you tell I\'m excited about it?) I\'ve got my pass, hotel, and flight... so who else will be there? I\'ve already mentioned over in the Wyrd forums that everybody could meet at the Wyrd booth on Saturday, so who\'s interested? I\'d love to meet everybody!

Didnt you tell me befor you have never flown? so this will be your first flight?

I was planning on going, pre-registered and everything, but then I found out my Family will be expanding in July, so that pretty much killed the plans.

Let us know how it is though.

well i am only an hour from it, so yeah i will be there. but only for one day. i am entering the painting contest and buying stuff. i might end of doing some living greyhawk. not sure though. some could come back to my place and we could rock it out one night for a bit. and the hotels and motels in kokomo are a bit cheaper. just an idea.

Yep, along with my first GenCon, getting there with also involve my first time on an airplane! (yeah, I\'ve had a sheltered life :( ). Any flying tips anybody?

Take some sucky sweets on for take off and landing, and suck em. Will stop your ears popping due to the pressure.

I get it really bad and can get really sharp pains which last for hours. Werthers Origionals rock.

Actually chewing gum works better in my opinion but I also know how to remove the pressure on my ears like a diver would.

I\'m pretty sure I\'ll be going. It\'ll be my first real convention, so I\'m definitely looking forward to the experience.

ok its final then. i invite you c\'moners to my place in kokomo if\'n ya want. we can meet up on saturday and do what not and later on if anyones up for it we rock it out at my place. i would really like to meet some of you guys. cept\' vike. he scares me.

Have you had a problem with this Ollie? :D

My biggest concern is not flying itself, I don\'t get motion sickness of have any problems with air pressure, I\'m just worried about becoming lost in the airports, going through security, and how I can possibly pack light enough to maybe fit all I need into a carry-on, etc. Anybody have any tips for those areas?

@ Uber - Parrty at your place? Sounds like an idea! And dont let Vike scare you, he\'s always looked like that. ;)
And Kokomo? Didn\'t the Beach Boys sing about your place? I never woulda thought it was in Indiana.....

Well, I bought my plane ticket today, so I\'m definitely going. I\'m looking forward to meeting some of the people from the forums (although, many probably have no idea who I am since I don\'t post here very much anymore) and most certainly interested in meeting....well....a particular someone. :yes:

I\'m also hoping to pick up a few pointers from some of the better painters and, in general, just have a good time.

I had originally planned on going (and even teaching), but then I realized I\'d probably quit painting by then, so I changed my mind.

One of these years, I\'ll finally make it out there.

i am planning on having a bbq at my place in kokomo on either friday or saturday. so if you guys would like some home cooking and a room full of miniatures feel free and get ahold of me. i may even have a room available for a few of you if my wife says its fine. which she shouldnt mind all that much.

my house is actually off of 31 north and about 45 minutes from there. its just an idea, but please let me know. i would love to meet some of you c\'moners.

and hinton i love your piece of the thief. so yes i do know you. freaky aint it.

Uber: cool; glad to know that I\'m not completely anonymous. :D And thanks.

There are a couple of painting classes that I\'ll be going to, but I can\'t remember off-hand which ones or, more importantly, what time they are; guess I should I write this stuff down somewhere.

If it works out, I\'d be glad to head on over for some BBQ. It would just be a matter of figuring out how to get there and back.

I\'ll do some checking and have a more definite answer for you later.

If you\'re only coming for a day, how are you enterring the competition? Deadline Friday Night, pick up on Saturday? Or are you talking the Privateer Press comp? Just making sure you\'ve checked the schedule!
