Dudes!! (and dudettes)...
We got back in about 2 this morning....so all\'s well.
I didn\'t meet everyone, but I met a few folks (including Supervike). On the trip home, we were all lamenting how we wished we could have gone out to dinner with you guys----but sadly, we had to get back. We\'re already planning a long trip for next year.
Anyway..typical competition for me...
The pieces I thought might win something didn\'t win a thing, and the piece that I thought wouldn\'t win anything brought home a little swag.
It looked like I made the cut on the PP contest, too. Well, I was on the tray when they picked the winners of the single category. anyway....and they did pick my model up at least once (and made some nice comments about it). Which was cool....
The Privateer Press guys were cutting-up a bit about my name---\"Kevin Clark\" for you guys that follow the PP games. We\'re *not* the same guy, btw.
The Rackham piece I painted didn\'t win a thing----but it looked like it made it up the cut a bit, anyway....I couldn\'t tell for sure, and I never bother asking anyone.
And then I won some sort of Reaper/Black Lightning choice award---so, I got $25 in pewter that I otherwise wouldn\'t have had.
All in all a fun trip. I picked up a few pointers from some folks.
Harassed some people a bit, apparently---you know, tried to say hello to some of the paint \"celebs\" only to have them peer at me like I\'m a stalker and attempt to ignore me. I really find this behavior more prevalent than would be expected, considering it\'s *just* miniature paint. I\'m not sure if it speaks to me or to them. I just find it odd, really. Perhaps I need to rethink my initial approach...
And then I had a real nice conversation with Bobby Jackson....which was way cool....and picked up a few putty tips/tricks.
Cheers!
