Hopefully not too out of place, but it\'s moved a little past the WIP stage and I\'d really like to get as much feedback as I can...

Please comment on my figure here, it would be greatly appreciated:

Ideally, I\'d like suggestions/comments on improvements to possibly make with a view to entering it in the local GW Hobby Center painting competitions that are coming up here in April.

Any and all constructive criticism would be most welcome.

Thanks!

Its got such a creepy look to it. ANd the you\'ve given it a believable paint job.

The eyes look kind of boring, like there is no life there, but you mention that in your comments....But if the contest is of the online variety...maybe you\'d want another picture to capture that. Just my 2 cents.

How amazing are those crystals? Amazing enough that my wife was wandering past my desk, saw them, and stopped to ask what you\'d made them out of. When I told her you\'d painted them, and that this model was in the Relic competition, she said, \"honey, I love you... but you\'re screwed.\"

Great work, Tin. I love seeing what you do with the OOP models.

Revised figure in 155164

Thanks for the comments thus far, folks.

I\'ve since made some additions and revisions to the painting and the general theme of the figure. While it\'s an OOP GW figure and kinda outdated in the 40K backstory, I wanted to leave the figure as-is and generally present a \"scene\" using the scenery, \"sculpted\" drool, and blood spatters.

Having made as much adjustment to the skin color as reasonably possible time-wise as well as adding in the other elements to present a mini-diorama of sorts, he\'s been reposted with new pictures as essentially a new figure (which, in my mind, he kinda is... being a somewhat abrupt departure from the version I entered into the painting competition over on the Relicnews P&M Forum.)

Please comment, as I\'d really like feedback on general impressions of the figure and how he interacts with the scenery/display base:

I guess I should also put in a token disclaimer, seeing as how people have mentioned elsewhere that they don\'t care for the figure but do like the painting: I\'d really prefer feedback on the painting, overall atmosphere, and technical presentation of this guy as those are things I can improve on in other figures. Basing votes and comments on \"I don\'t really like the miniature\" doesn\'t help me along in terms of developing as a painter. Thanks!

Re: posted figure # 155164

Well, I entered this guy in the \"local\" in-store-competition-only painting contest at the closest GW Hobby Center and after some long discussion by staff that were judging things, it won first place over some really excellent figures!

I\'d like to enter him again in the Citadel Celebration national 40K painting competition stuff coming up this next week, and I was wondering if anyone did have any suggestions or comments regarding the figure? Apparently the judging for this 3-category 40K competition is overnight with winners announced the following afternoon.

(I\'m hoping that the lack of feedback/comments on the revised figure maybe means folks think he looks good, but right now the scoring is lower than my first posted version prior to this one, without the starker contrasts, blood, and added base detail...?)
