so yeah....another thing thats not making me so happy. just seems like a bit too much of the gothic leather look to me. although this pic leaves me hoping just a bit that it will be decent at best.

I was a bit old for the \'GI JOE\' craze, so I\'ve never been a big fan. My youngest brother was though, so I knew a bit about the characters.

However, this looks cooler than I would have thought. Especaially the ninja...Snakeeyes?

Eccleston could be good as Destro but if that\'s who he\'s meant to be where\'s the shiny metal head?

The katana that Snake Eyes has, is far too shiny. It looks like it is chromed.

I have one and you can certainly not see a mirror like reflection in it.

Forgive my ignorance but I thought G.I. Joe was a cheap version of Action Man. So therefore a WW2 , U.S. soldier ???.
However whatever those photos depict it looks very interesting .
GOD bless .................VINCENTI

As far as I understand, Action man was the UK version of G.I. Joe but since those times, G.I. Joe gained more of a story and personalities and characters.

In other words the marketing guys found another way to make parents shell out MORE cash.

traditionally he was a WW2 warrior. I\'ve only heard of Action Man from you Brits, so I don\'t know about him. The GI JOE I knew as a kid was a big doll...er action figure, about 12 inches tall, complete with dog tags and razor stubble. He also revolutionized the kung fu grip. The accessories were incredible!

In the mid 80\'s the toy maker \'revisioned\' the entire line, coming out with a whole set of little GI JOE Characters. These figures were 3 3/4 inches tall, and of course tied into a \'cartoon show\'. In this modern version, GI JOE is an anti terrorist group and the bad guys COBRA are the ultimate in terror.

That would be because Action Man was a licensed copy of the original 12\" GI Joe. Joe was originally launched in \'64, Action Man in \'66.

Same in the 80\'s, as Action Force and GI Joe went into the 3 3/4\" world more or less together. Joe would eventually overshadow Action Force and \'Action Force\' would essentially become the \'international\' version of the Joe line.

Yeah and then they eventually decided to get rid of Action Force altogether and just call the whole lot G.I. Joe. I was into my Action Force in a big way. I had loads of them and I still have most of them up in my parents loft :D

I think I was just getting too old for them when action force were first out. I remember buying a few off a kid at school and a couple of new ones, commandos and sas I think, but soon just stashed them away in the attic. I think I had more vehicles than figures for action man. My favourite was a helicopter.

I have every hope they will rape my childhood memories of GI Joe and make a crappy movie. However i\'m holding out hope, especially after seeing those photos. Although i am a but peeved that yes, great actor that Eccleston is, will be Destro and i\'ve heard they dropped the metal head and look from him. Going instead with a modern business man instead. Couldn\'t see the pic of Baroness very well but she better be smoking hot. Her in that tight black leather is what made you want to be in Cobra.

I\'m almost looking forward to this. I grew up on the 3 1/4\" figures. As posted in another thread, the one thing I wanted for Xmas but never got was the USS Flagg and I remember wanting to grow up to be just like Duke. Everything I saw in the pics looked kinda cool, though a bit to superheoric, except for Destro. Destro with no Chrome Dome is just another bad guy. It would be like them showing Cobra Commander\'s face. Just not right.
