Well he did occasionally take it off when he was trying to be ingognito etc. I remember one issue of the comic where he was traveling by air and he had it in a metal case and got asked what it was at customs. Maybe he takes it off for business meetings as it would probably freak out investors a bit. Hopefully he will wear it at some point in the film.

Looks ok and as ray parker is snake eyes i have hope for some kickass scenes. (thank gawd snake eyes cant talk as ray parker sounds like mike tyson)
although storm shadow looks like a blind guy in a white moo moo(as blind swordsmen are cool he isnt) lol and a wayans brother is in ......actually a wayans brother in the movie could be a good thing (a super cheese movie that knows its a super cheese movie isnt a bad thing) or he could be a chris rock to jackie chan (comedic side kick) and ruin the whole thing)

Ray Park is about the only redeeming thing this movie might have to offer. I\'ll rent the DVD from Netflix and jump just to his fight scenes, then \'lose\' it and burn the damned thing as a form of protest.

Not really anything to wonder about.
The COBRA organization will be in the movie in some form, Joseph Gordon-Leavitt (sp?) is cast as COBRA Commander. This is (to put it kindly) a reboot of the 80\'s Joe mythology, so while the things you might remember will be there, don\'t expect them to be WHAT you remember.
Which is the main reason I want nothing to do with it.
I dunno about \'great\', although I certainly don\'t dislike him. However, \'guy in a black suit\' does not say Destro to me.
It\'s better casting than Marlon Wayans as Ripcord, certainly.

I grew up with the \'big Joes\' (12\") in the 70s. My younger brother however was quite into the smaller ones with the TV spinoff so I am fairly familiar with those too. I must admit to having a degree of excitement when I saw the title of the thread and the link. My excitement was diminished somewhat with the link itself but I\'ll still be making an effort to see this one in the theatre, failing that I\'ll likely buy it on DVD.
We can\'t make all movies today to be just like the \'whatever it is we are copying\' of our childhood. Things get updated and modified, often to the betterment of the action/story/whatever.

I wouldn\'t say \'often\', but I suppose it sometimes happens (the LOTR movies certainly took liberties with the story, for example, but were still very well done).
I definitely don\'t think this is going to be one of those cases.

Is there a character in this who DOESN\'T wear black leather? I mean, the outfits some of the toy characters wear would look ridiculous:

Well, I don\'t think that it needs to be a \'reality\' based uniform design necessarily, most of the old figures that this movie is based on certainly wear things that wouldn\'t be wise on the battlefield.
But, when everybody wears black, it tends to take away from the uniqueness of a character like Snake-Eyes...not to mention the changes to the character of Snake-Eyes in the first place.
The fact that they actually \'hid\' the text GI JOR *in* the camouflage pattern is kinda sad, though.
TBH if this movie wasn\'t called GI Joe I might be interested in it...but slapping that name on it simply for recognition\'s sake irks the bejeezus out of me.
