I wish this model was 28mm for gaming purposes.

For me it goes even past the obvious skill in physically representing the model and into the fantastic pose of the model. This is really, to me, a model that tells a story. It seeps dramatic images into my brain, and I even hate Dark Elves! Truthfully if this model were 28mm I would build an army JUST to have this model thrown in the mix. There is an excellent Gamezone model, and the GW ones are great as well, but this just does something that goes even past a 10 for me.

I hear you Junior Elf and even agree with your point about the scale issues. If this model doesn\'t do for you what it does for me then I see nothing wrong with giving it whatever score you like. 8,9, and 10\'s aren\'t just given away round here and ANY model scoring higher then an 8.0 is usally a fantastico job.

It\'s not like you don\'t think the model is, what\'s the greek phrase... tres bien, right?

I do not care about how big the mini is the sculpting is perfect. That amount of texture and detail that are in the armour and on the saur\'s skin are not something that can be easily created on a 28mm and have it look good and believable which is why YOU NEVER SEE IT. The bigger the mini the more elaborate and sophisticated the detail and texture becomes. If one cannot understand that then one should not vote on a mini they cannot comprehend.

Nah, that\'s not fair. A \"9\" is no laughing matter and still represents a godlike ability in the craft of sculpting. 10\'s should only be splashed around when people think that nothing could improve the sculpt/paint or whatever. If the model doesn\'t \"Do\" anything other then look impressive then a 9 is a perfectly fair score.

I personally DON\'T like the Rackham style. I can see the skill involved in painting and sculpting some of the models, especially the wolfen, but they don\'t hit me in the brain like some other stuff so I\'ve yet to give higher then a 9 on some of those sculpts myself.

Nothing wrong at all with 9\'s.

If I was being super-critical, I\'d say there was something not quite right about the elf\'s right leg and groin area. Seems too long and as though there\'s some sort of disconnect there....

There are plenty of painters on this site who have been slapped in the face by the subjectiveness of the voters. Also the name of the site if cool mini. A mini can be painted or sculpted as long as it is a mini and it is cool.

EDIT: actually it is back to a 9.9 where it belongs... at LEAST.

That is one amazing sculpt. I just wish it was 28mm scale so I could include it in my army. I might have to buy one but I don\'t think I\'d paint it - just couldn\'t do it justice.

So, anyone found this in the US yet? I can\'t seem to find it from my usual sources of Andrea miniatures I know it is available from Spain as Andrea has it on their website, but I know it\'s already going to be expensive and I can\'t afford ordering it directly....

Technically its a good piece but it doesn\'t float my boat.

Sculpts for me dont normally get more than a nine unless they paint them up as well (and do that well!)

For me its not about the relationship to the fluff its about the miniature as a unique thing. This sculpt doesnt tell me its own story

Should I be marking down any painter that didn\'t sculpt the figure as well? what a pathetic attitude to have.

If that\'s the criteria that makes a mini cool in your opinion then vote however you see fit... ain\'t that the whole point??

It\'s an astonishing sculpt... it would be made sweeter still with an astonishing paintjob

I totaly agree that it is down to personal interpretation, however to many sculptors the piece is finished once the sculpt is complete.

why should the figure need to be painted, has the artist not done enough by simply creating it?

michelangelo\'s David is ok, but it will be much better when the skintones are done huh?

I\'d vote on a blob of snot if it was well painted. Some people focus on the paintjob, some focus on the sculpt, some like to look at the detail of both, some like the associated fluff

I agree that a sculpt is a complete and stand-alone piece of work and should be judged accordingly. However, unlike Michaelangelo\'s David, sculpts like these are generally created in one form or another to have paint applied to them.

I gave it an 8 (if possible I might have given it an 8.5) - I can see that it´s technically very good, but to be honest I find the sculpt somewhat boring, and I´m very surprised by the hype regarding this mini...
