I love the fact the smoking in bars and restaurants is banned here in Sweden now. It\'s great to be able to go home after visiting the pub without stinking like an ash tray. I don\'t think people have a problem stepping outside to smoke - most younger smokers don\'t smoke indoors when they\'re at home anyway.
90% of lung cancer deaths are related to smoking. Almost 10% of smokers develop lung cancer (which has over a 90% mortality rate), while less than 1% of non-smokers develop the disease. Smoking also increases the risk of cardiac arrest, cancers to all parts of the body, and causes emphysema, a degenerative lung condition which is eventually fatal. Smoking is the number one leading cause of preventable death in the western world. So why the hell do I smoke? Because I\'m an addict!
I question these numbers, not that i\'m calling you a liar, I simply question your source. I have read that the World Health Orginization has found that children in a home with both parents smoking, are 22% less likely to develop lung cancer, a fact that the WHO has tried to downplay. Whether this is true I have no idea.
