Thought I would *bump* this thread, as I've since purchased a number of Infinity miniatures and wanted to give some impressions of them.
First one I bought was a "Shang Ji Invincibles" I picked up from a local store. Opening it up, it had these "complaint code" pieces of paper in the packaging. Not knowing what these were for, I casually discarded them and went about assembling the mini. It was only then that I realized I was missing pieces (the little fin things for the back), and that I needed that complaint code number to submit a claim to get the missing piece. It wasn't a big deal though, since I though the mini looked a bit sleeker without the fins and I just filled in the sockets with green stuff.
I figured that first experience was bad luck, so I bought a few more. The next few assemblies went fine with no missing pieces. Although like kendarus noted, they are a bit of a pain to assemble giving the multitude of pieces, especially some really tiny bits. And making it more challenging is they typically have a ton of flash on them. Often I find myself wondering if something is actually supposed to be part of the mini or just extraneous flash. The fact they don't provide any sort of assembly diagram doesn't help.
But today I decided to get the Tsyklon Sputniks. I was especially excited since these look straight out of the pages of Masamune Shirow's Appleseed or Ghost in the Shell. I open the box and discover over half the pieces are missing! The only thing included were the legs and the "heads" of these things. A quick Google search revealed that there are nine extra pieces I'm supposed to have.
This is now the sixth Infinity mini I've opened and the second one to have missing parts. That's a 33% packaging error rate! Now maybe it's just bad luck, but I am NOT impressed. And especially since they don't include any parts list or assembly diagram, so one may not even know what they are missing until they go to build it.
I'm going to send in a complaint and we'll see how their customer service is in replacing the missing pieces. If I have a good experience, I may give them another shot. If not, I'm probably done with this company. It's a shame, because they have some really nice designs. But that doesn't mean squat if the quality control isn't there.
