I just thought about something. Maybe they are redoing the models and not killing the game. Atleast as far as teh blood bowl stuff goes. The ogres could have been done better.

Well, one would hope that is the case. But it\'s not quite what is implied. And unfortunately, GW doesn\'t cater for collectors. Their market is the gamers who are interested in a current range.

The general idea is that they want all countries to have the same ranges available, so instead of making all the ranges available, they\'re trimming those that are not available to all. What I don\'t get is that some of the stuff is mail-order only anyhow - in my rather limited understanding. For example; are Escher and Spyrers available without having to go through mail-order? If not, then why aren\'t they being chopped too? With mail-order, all ranges are available to everyone already. ???

\"We plan for these retired ranges and models to make impromptu returns for relevant promotional periods.\" - this statement implies they\'re not re-doing, except for when and as they please. Like when the games need a bit of added interest due to flagging sales.

I think that the stated reasons aren\'t quite accurate. I think that they\'re just being full of shit. :D

Yep, that\'s pretty horredndous, kind of
\"We can\'t get these models on sale everywhere, so we\'re not going to sell the anywhere\"

More like they don\'t sell well enough to justify the shop space so they\'re being dropped.

The list for =I= is the vast majority of the stuff that has been added to the range since the game was released. I would hope they would still be available via Mail Order in the UK, but then again I was under the impression that that was the only way you could get them now anyway.

@SJB - looks like they decided your =I= models were cool enough to reamain in the range :)

Specialist Game support has slowed to a crawl over the last year or two. I would be very surprised if these games were still available from GW (MO or otherwise) this time next year.

Meh, there will always be a hardcore group of Mordheim players (myself included) that refuse to go away.

Ehhh... it sucks, but that\'s why we have eBay.

I haven\'t bought a new GW mini in almost a year. I usually only collect very very old minis anyways, so it works for me.

From Specialist Games:

The guys in Direct Sales have contacted me to let you know that some of the below reported Inquisitor models (in fact the vast majority) are not being retired at all just simply repackaged and/or amalgamated to fit in with the new catalogue structure.

Sorry for the confusion, the list I was given was unclear about this aspect. Muir Murdoch, who manages the ranges, emailed me the details:

\"Simeon 38X, Damien Bloodhound, Mutant Emissary Fabian, and Lucrezia Bravus have all been added into the original boxes that they are made from giving the customer the option of doing Damian 1472 or Simeon 38X for example. The Chaos henchmen have just been renamed as Chaos Henchman Conversion Pack. The Kroot mercenary has had the contents changed to contain a complete normal kroot. Not the merc with the funny hands and helmet. The weapons booster and servo skulls will be only available loose.\"

For now,
Andy @ Fanatic

Everybody try to untwist yer knickers.

Yes, I noticed that. First thing I did when I saw the list was check if any of my sculpts were being dropped. Only ones of mine being abandoned are the Warmaster Teutogen Guard. Not my faves.

Glad that Jena and the Judge are still going to be dispensing 54mm scaled Imperial Justice as normal

Otherwise I see the logic in a lot of the choices but there are a few horrendous points.

They\'re dropping the original Orlock gang in favour of the massively inferior resculpts. That\'s a crying shame.

Just because it wont be in the catalogue or in stores after Dec 10th doesnt mean anything. There\'s lots of stuff GW does like this, some things they only do limited runs of every so often so it\'s only available online or through mail order, some stuff is just being sold off what little remains, I.E. could be thousands but not enough to supply the worlds stores with stock and guarantee availability. The spray paint colours are done in limited runs apparently, which is why it gets hard to find them.

Anyway, unless you\'ve got something else saying there wont be new sculpted replacement figures available anytime in the future or that =][= is being dumped you probably shouldnt be too upset about anything as it means almost nothing when you look at the way GW works. This isnt really enough to judge if the game is being dropped.

Then again, it probably doesnt make much money so it wouldnt suprise me if it got the boot.

Yeah. Thats what I was thinking too. **God I hate defending the bastards**. Some of the models were not good sculpts in my opinion. The ogre blood bowl team wasn\'t that good anyway. The cheer leader is really cool though.
